  • Overall I really liked the episode, except for the last scene, which seemed a little off to me, so much so that I wondered if she was trying to distract the Doctor into forgetting about the end of the world issue, or being somehow manipulated into doing so. I can believe that Amy would fancy the Doctor, but I don't think we've really seen much evidence before that one scene that she does. (This is pretty subjective of course; other people might think that they've been melting the screen with their chemistry.) I'm not too keen on her cheating on Rory either, but I suppose adrenaline and the fact that she nearly died, plus her uncertainty about getting married, could easily lead to not so great decision making - she was clearly freaked out, after all. And who knows, maybe they have an open relationship (*crosses fingers*). Plus, I felt her aggressiveness was crossing the line a little into not taking no for an answer. On the other hand, I really liked the fact that she was clearly not ashamed of wanting just sex, that was great. And that is officially far too many words (and not enough being articulate) on just that one scene. Onward!

  • River! I love her more every episode. "...I absolutely trust him." Hee! And all the bits when she was taking care of Amy were just lovely. ♥ As was her clinging to Amy when she'd brought her through the teleport. YES.

  • Ahaha, when the Doctor tells them to hold onto something River grabbed Amy straight away! Just like Jamie grabbing Two...

  • "Can I trust you, River Song?"/"If you like. But where's the fun in that?"

  • The black cleric didn't die first this time! ...yay? Also, why were all the clerics male? Lazy.

  • It feels so wrong to see the Angels moving on camera! And I was not entirely convinced by the "pretend you can see and they'll believe you" idea, but that whole sequence was so well done and tense that I'll let it go.

  • Also from the department of things I am letting go, using the ship's gravity to stick to the hull was a brilliant idea, but surely they would all have landed on their heads? Never mind.

  • Father Octavian's death was excellent too, very moving.

  • Forest! Onna spaceship! What a great visual.

  • I am still not entirely sold on Eleven, alas, and I cannot put my finger on why. I don't dislike him, exactly, I just don't yet love him.

  • I really like how the arc-plot is developing, that we're actually learning more about the crack rather than just spotting it every now and then.

  • Amy counting down was sneaked in really well. V. creepy.

  • NEXT WEEK'S LOOKS GREAT.

Me too. Even while I think the scene is a sign of something wrong/her freaking out, I do like that Amy specifically says "yeah, no, I'm not in love with you, I just want sex," which is a nice change. (And while I somehow doubt they're going the open relationship route, I do kinda want Rory's reaction to it to be more "*sigh* again, Amy?" than getting upset about it.)

>The black cleric didn't die first this time! ...yay? Also, why were all the clerics male? Lazy.<

That is the one negative thing I have from this two-partner, the make-up and fates of the clerics kinda sucked. I mean... I guess if death is better than never existing that means that the two black guys from the first episode actually got the better deal? And maybe all the clerics were guys to contrast again River? IDK.

>And I was not entirely convinced by the "pretend you can see and they'll believe you" idea, but that whole sequence was so well done and tense that I'll let it go.<

I did like though that River called it on being impossible. And that instead of just believing the Doctor knew best, worked on a back-up plan for when it went wrong.

>Amy counting down was sneaked in really well. V. creepy.<

*nodsnodsnods* The gradual horror of it was great, especially since it took time for even the Doctor to notice something hinky.

>but surely they would all have landed on their heads?<

I was under the impression that that's maybe why Amy was all confused in the beginning of the episode, that it was maybe a rough landing onto the spaceship? I could be entire wrong there, though
