post holiday post
Tuesday, 1 September 2009 17:20*is back from holiday* Sailing was brilliant, except for when it was faintly terrifying. Well, ok, there was only one really alarming moment, when a gust of wind tipped the boat way to one side and I thought we were all going to fall out. ("It was fine," said Mark later, "there was a good inch between the top of the boat and the water." I would not describe that as "fine", personally.) Other than that, we didn't do much - the cottage was in a lovely area so we spent most of our time shuttling between it, the two nearby beaches and Salcombe itself. Some people went on a Big Walk on Tuesday. I was not one of those people. Anyway, there are photos here, now that Facebook is cooperating again.
After getting back on Saturday, I headed off almost straight away to Cheltenham for Emily's hen party: we wanted to recreate the sleepovers we had at school, so Izzy brought round her Spike poster and we ate pizza, brownies, sweets and fridge cake, listened to ABBA and Simon and Garfunkel, played Heroquest and Racing Demon, read Mizz and Shout, and watched Dirty Dancing. Excellent. I stayed at my parents' house for a few days and have therefore had an extra bit of holiday. Back to work tomorrow though, ho hum.
