I'm so boooored... and my eyes are going kerazy from staring at a screen all day. I want to go hoooome and go to sleeeeep. But instead I shall go home and watch Revelation of the Daleks. Unless it hasn't arrived in which case I may go home and throw a small tantrum, because my maturity levels are currently pretty low :-) Colin Baker is the only Doctor that I don't remember at all. I wonder if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Of course it may just be that I never saw any of his episodes. Ho hum.

I have not been doing much except working, woe. As a consequence my flat is a tip and needs muchos tidying. I need to hoover but I can't really get at the floor at the moment. This, alas, is not an unusual state of affairs. I did go home a few weeks ago, that was fun. Cheltenham was lovely and sunny and I sat out in the garden with a book, yay! Twas the sister's birthday (she is now very old, however that makes me very very old) and we went out for a meal. Then we came back and watched Doctor Who and I was outgeeked by my mum.

Colin Baker (1984-1986) is remembered for all the wrong reasons, none of which were actually his fault. When being chosen to replace Peter Davison his character was given a bizarre costume, and Colin decided to play the Doctor as alien, angry and stroppy, at one point even trying to kill his poor female American companion Peri. The show was axed in 1985 after ratings dipped before being brought back after about 18 months. Despite the return, the show's episode count was cut and the Baker was sacked in 1987 when the BBC wrongly blamed him for the shows problems, which made him refuse to shoot his final regeneration scene.

His stories are quite good, the best (imo) being THE TWO DOCTORS which was shot in Seville and brought back the Sontarans as well as the 2nd Doctor and Jamie - two Doctors in one story! Not sure if its on DVD. His final season was entirely made up of the epic 14-part story The Trial Of A Time Lord, which is basically the Doctor's very long trial.

Colin still supports the show in TV interviews and conventions, and continues to play the Doctor alongside Peri in the Doctor Who audio CDs.
