dreamwidth
Thursday, 16 April 2009 11:28I signed up for Dreamwidth with my Open ID last night and have been playing around with it, adding some people from here (anyone I've missed?) and a few communities. So far, I like it: I don't know how OpenID works in other places, but I love that you get to have a little profile and a reading list and six icon spaces (which I have filled already, natch) - it makes it feel very friendly. 'Circle' is a good synonym for 'friendslist' and though I'm not sure how much I'd use the two-tier adding system, since I don't friendslock much anyway, it's a nice idea. And it's only a tiny thing, but I love that the number of unread messages in your inbox shows up in the navigation strip. I will probably try and get an account at some point (does anyone know if I can sort of merge my current ID into a proper account when I get one?) and do some crossposting, but I'm not planning to up sticks completely - all my things are here. I am considering changing my username though, I've never been particularly keen on this one, but this depends on my being able to think of something I like more!
