The snow has pretty much melted now, alas, but here are some pictures I took of the view from work this morning (indulge me, ok, we very rarely get even this much snow down south):









While I am in a photo-y mood, here is a meme (wot I have done before, but never mind). This iteration nicked from eponymous_rose: Ask me to take a picture of any aspect of my life that you're interested in/curious about - it can be anything from my DVD collection to my favorite pair of shoes. Completely unrelated, other than that it is on my mind today: I am thinking about signing up for tardis_gen, but I've never done a ficathon before, and thus there is fear. What if I cannot think of anything, or if what I write is rubbish, or I say I can write characters that it turns out I can't? Argh, I am going to stop worrying about it and go and make some cakes. Cake makes everything better.

Re. tardis_gen, I guess you could limit yourself to only characters you know really, really well, whom you've written before??

I've been reminding myself that tardis_gen is only 1000 words - while acknowledging that my plot bunnies are perfectly capable of making it 10,000, and hoping they won't!

April may be ages away NOW, but Time has a tendency to march past very fast!

And I've got 8 or 9 partly written fics to work on between now and then.

Aww! You have more snow than York does today.

I was gonna say book shelves, but I've been beaten to it, so! Show me your desk/dressing table (or closest thing to it, if you don't have one) if you would be so kind :)

I can't believe we had more than York! That seems wrong, somehow. Apparently it's moving north so maybe you'll have some snow later in the week.

Very pretty, and for not getting snow often, that is a lot! I won't tease about how much we got last week. ;)

I also would have said bookshelves, so how about your bedroom closet?

And ficathons are lovely! It is always stressful to a certain extent but it's a good way to encourage you, I find, to write outside a comfort zone. Also you make someone else happy and get a lovely present in return. :)

If you say you can write characters and it turns out you can't, the person you're writing for usually has another request you could do... Or, sometimes there's panic. ;)

Will do another photo post! I like kitchens too, though sadly mine is not particularly pretty.
