contains Romans
Monday, 1 December 2008 20:47I have watched The Romans and it is every bit as fun as fandom led me to believe.
- Noooo, the TARDIS is in danger! This distresses me more than I care to admit.
- "There is a great deal of difference between resting and being sort of ...bone idle." Words to live by, I feel.
- Vicki and Barbara are just lovely together.
- The Doctor is incredibly camp when he's talking about the meal. ♥
- Ian/Babs flirting! And doing his hair! Aw, Ian's disgruntled face! Cute giggling! Barbara rolling her eyes at him! Exclamation mark!
- Wow, Ian's tunic is short. Not that I'm complaining, mind.
- BARBARA'S ROMAN HAIR. SO PRETTY.
- Lots of stock footage in part 2. They were maybe running a bit short y/n? The coastline shot is nice, though.
- The sexual harrassment farce is rather fail and it does go on a bit. :(
- "Oh, and I might have poisoned Nero." Oh Vicki, bless you. Her conspiratorial bits with the Doctor are win too.
- Hee at the Doctor Emperor's-New-Clothes-ing them.
- Good Lord, the soldiers' skirts are short. I can see their roman pants!
- Hurrah for Barbara saving the Doctor by accident, just because she's a good person.
- Oh Doctor, punning in the face of danger!
- Heh, I spent ages waiting for the Moment when they all meet up in Rome, and it never happened!
- Aw, Ian and Babs being silly together again.
- "But surely he knows how to fly it?" Oh, poor naïve Vicki.

Date: 1 Dec 2008 21:29 (UTC)I read that, naturally, as "I can see their roman parts" and had quite the raised eyebrows, let me tell you. ;)
I love this one to pieces, other than, as you say, the extended comedy sexual harassment bit, and also it makes me craaaazy when there is no resolution, so One is all "you're such layabouts" or whatnot and I'm sitting there yelling "he was on a slave ship. A SLAVE SHIP!"
::icons appropriately - mmm, Ian!legs::

The lack of resolution just makes me laugh because I was expecting this big conversation and instead it's more like "oh well, never mind, onto the next adventure!" Though I would get annoyed if they kept doing that sort of thing.
