Tuesday, 30 October 2007 21:57Didn't get round to watching Spooks early in the end, has been a v. busy week. But I wish I had, for it were awesomesocks.
Connie is marvellous and I love her. She is witty and snarky and warm and clever. She knows ALL and she has a spiffing hat.
MALCOLM! This was such a great episode for him. His line "she thinks I do what you do" was great. I was so scared he was going to be killed off. But no! He was all smashing and competent and love. Oh the bit where Adam says "That Malcolm was invincible. I knew he'd get us out" and there was this grin on his face and so much affection and respect... I had a big grin on my face too. He is secretly the best of them, maybe.
Harry getting knighted! yay. His word association scene was great, just the right mix of funny "chocolate buttons" and poignant. Oh he misses Ruth :-( And I liked him sneaking off at the airbase.
I don't mind Ros being snide when she's being snide at (possible) enemies, it turns out. Not sure what to think about this traitor storyline thingy - it is at least consistent for her character, I suppose, but hardly calculated to make me like her at all. Though it seems I am ok with the Adam/Ros bits when they are all spikey and messed up, so that's something. And her fooling the lie detector was a good bit too. I take it she also watched last week's QI.
Jo is still stuck doing things because the plot demands them rather than because she has characterisation, sigh. But I liked her and Ros tag teaming against Alan or whatever his name was.
Hurray, split screen! Heh, I didn't realise how much I'd missed it! This show looks so good, with the lighting and the colours and the framing and stuffs like that. Oh and also I lolled much at the crazy UFO people.
(why yes, I am clinging to "he's not dead til we see his body" with Zaf, why do you ask? I did appreciate the misdirection from last week's trailer with the "Zafar Younis is/was already dead" line.)
