- After a lot of dithering I finally signed up for Ravelry last week (same screen name as here). Does anyone else use it? I have found ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
hhertzof and the Who Knits group but am otherwise just flailing around going "how does this work then?".
- Spooks: Code 9 I am not entirely sure about yet; the second episode was definitely better than the first, so I'm willing to give it some time. A lot of the acting is not great, which is a shame, and some of the dialogue's a bit wobbly too. Luckily the second episode toned down some of the "look how young and crazy we are, we do shots and everyfing!" stuff so hopefully it'll all settle down a bit as the series goes on. The one element that I really didn't like was the between-scenes Union Jack bits. From an in-story perspective I can see why they'd be waving it around all the time, but from a me-sitting-on-the-sofa perspective it makes me twitchy. I'm vaguely intrigued by the arc plot though - that's something that Spooks never really did, even last series it was more an ongoing story than individual stories with arc type stuff in the background.
- Also I have finally got around to watching the first episodes of Alias, am liking it so far, it took off for me around episode three with the introduction of Anna (who I immediately started shipping with Sydney...) - I knew Gina Torres was in it, but not that she appeared this soon! The main problem so far is that I know a lot of the names of the characters and actors, and it is a bit jarring finding out that some of them don't look like I thought they did. This is a silly problem to have.
- Also also, I saw the first three episodes of The Dresden Files, was a bit sad to find out it was cancelled after only twelve episodes as I thought it had a lot of potential. (And "Get back in your skull!" made me giggle.) Will have to investigate the books as well.
- Am off on holiday tomorrow for a fortnight! I'll probably try and catch up with the internets when I get back, because I'm stubborn like that, but if there's anything you think I should see or want me to comment on, leave me a link and I shall go "yay!" and go and look.
