it goes for me too
Friday, 31 July 2020 11:01- I finally updated my dreamwidth layout so it's now readable on mobile! I can't get the header to resize properly but it's better than before. (I think it's possible, but would involve a lot more futzing with CSS than I am willing and able to do.)
- I have forgotten how to make posts that aren't reading roundups. Hello friends, hope you're all doing ok in this time of times. <3 My library has reopened so I'm going in once a week, which I'm not desperately thrilled about (especially given it's on the same site as a hospital), but at least I can walk in and not have to get public transport.
- I watched the last season of She-Ra! And had slightly mixed feelings. I loved a lot of stuff about season five (every now and then I think about "they can't defend themselves! They're dads!" and it makes me laugh), and I certainly didn't dislike Catra/Adora, but I feel like the show dropped a lot of the good stuff it was doing about friendship in favour of making sure everyone was relentlessly coupled up in time for the finale, and I'm sad about it. I'm tired of happy queer futures with no place for people like me in them, I'm tired of being at odds with my own community, I'm just tired. (I also feel like having the one non-binary character be a duplicitous amoral shapeshifter was... maybe not ideal.)
- In better watching news, the new adaptations of Malory Towers and the Babysitter's Club are both very good and charming in similar and different ways, both highly recommended.
- Super super into the new Critical Role playlist for Caduceus. Goth hippie vibes are my jam, it turns out. <3
- I've also been playing video games with some old friends from Bristol (via Discord) once a week, which has been great. We're currently playing the Pillars of the Earth game, which is... weirdly soothing? It has a similar vibe to reading a big, absorbing historical/historical fantasy epic.
- I tried my hand at DMing a few weeks (or months? what is time) ago for the first time with one of my regular D&D groups and it was really fun! It was supposed to be a one shot adventure but two sessions later we're still not quite done.
- Turns out I did have quite a few things to post about after all?
