how do I think of titles for posts
Thursday, 6 December 2018 21:19Hello dreamwidth friends new and old! Here is an intro post.
Some facts about me:
- aro/grey ace librarian, pronouns she/her.
- have been living in London for nearly two years, which I love, though as someone who's lived in bits of the UK that aren't London for over three decades I also slightly resent it.
- I am shinyjenni almost everywhere I exist on the internet, except on tumblr where I am usuallyhats, a decision that probably made sense at the time.
- things you are likely to see here: monthly reading roundups*, end of year memes, the odd vid announcement, maybe other posts as and when I get my act together enough.
- important note: I have reached a time in my life when I am finding almost*** all m/f romance storylines pretty tedious so please take my opinions on same with a grain of salt.
- I play D&D now, that's a thing. I play a dwarf paladin in one game and a half-orc eldritch knight in the other, and am working on having a Scrooge McDuck style pool of dice to dive into.
Fandoms:
- I am basically a full time Critical Role goblin nowadays, I love all those nerds and their faces. Marisha and her characters are pretty much my favourite in any circumstances, but they are all so good, it's too much.
- Also watching a lot of The Wednesday Club, which given my slightly vexed relationship with comics**** is maybe not a good idea.
- I've had an off/on relationship with New Who, but I'm almost up to date with the most recent season and though I have some quibbles with it, I love Thirteen with all my heart, she makes it a joy to watch.
- My intense Star Trek phase from a couple of years ago has faded slightly, but I've been watching it for over half my life, it's always with me, and at any moment there's a chance it'll do something to make me fall for it all over again.
*I know November's is overdue, it's on the list**
**I've occasionally thought about doing the Wednesday reading roundup but given I can't stick to a monthly schedule a weekly one is clearly right out
***the most recent honourable exception being Percy/Vex from Critical Role, which, one caveat aside, is a delight
****short version: fell joyfully in love with the DCU, then six months later the new 52 hit and everything I loved stopped existing (or in extreme cases was banned from ever existing in any universe) and I've never really got over it

Date: 7 Dec 2018 10:22 (UTC)I love your characterization of London-resentment as a Londoner; I feel it too.
And you KNOW I will always be there for a good round of DOWN WITH THE ROMANCE PLOT. <3
