November and October were v busy this year for some reason, and as a result I a) failed to post an October roundup and b) didn't actually have anything to say about any of these. (I did have some complaining about The Galaxy Game, but I decided it was a bit unfair since it essentially boiled down to "I thought this was a standalone but actually it was a sequel to a book I noped out of early on, and thus I was confused and lost all the way through". (I do think I would have been less confused with stronger characters, whose actions and reactions I could have used to anchor myself, though. I really enjoy doing that.)

So this is just a list of things I read in October and November, mostly out of completism on my part, but if anyone wants to talk to me about anything on here, please do! (I really liked almost all of these, fyi.)


(Further note: I wrote this whole thing out a week ago and am only just now getting round to posting it, because I am a disaster.)

Friend, I read the first one and I still hated The Galaxy Game. Such a weird, confusing, not-good book.

It was such a mess! It definitely felt like there were some good things in there somewhere, but it wouldn't stop getting in its own way for long enough for them to emerge.
