I am quite tired today, mostly because I sat up late last night finishing Worrals of the Islands. Oops. But I had to keep reading! I wanted to know just how many people Worrals was going to end up rescuing. :) This one had some unfortunately racist bits, which was a shame - I kept having to remind myself when it was written. But other than that, it was a great read, and fiercely feminist right from the beginning, with Worrals getting angry (and sarcastic) about the fact that the Squadron Leader was worried about her when he wouldn't have been worried about the male pilots, and then she tells him off for it! And he tries to excuse himself by talking about how some of the lads had found the Spitfires a little tricky, and she just says that they must be ham-fisted, because she's never had a problem. ♥ I had to stop and read that bit a few times because it was so awesome. ILU, Worrals! All the way through I liked how Worrals was the one in charge - of course she was, she's the senior officer. And Frecks got to be fantastic too, swooping in, rescuing Worrals and Rama, yay! My edition had pictures and I did feel terribly sorry for them in their uniforms. I have worn that uniform and it is not designed for heat.

On Saturday night I stayed up too late finishing the Attolia books (something of a pattern developing here, I think) which I love trememdously. They're just so well written: the plot is engrossing, the world the books are set in is beautifully drawn and developed, and the characters are wonderful. They're all very rounded and believable, and their interactions feel so real. Marvellous stuff and I cannot wait for the next one.

Law and Order: UK is on tonight, and I am really looking forward to it, which I wasn't expecting: I went into it thinking, "not really my thing, but it has Martha and Apollo and him off The State Within, it's worth trying" and ended up really liking it. It's weird watching stuff on the actual telly as opposed to the iplayer; I keep forgetting you can't pause it.
