If you google "Being Human" you just get ontological debates
Wednesday, 22 October 2008 11:32I was reading SFX this morning over breakfast, as I am wont to do, and I found a rather dismaying piece on Being Human. Apparently the series is a reboot rather than a continuation, and both Annie and Mitchell have been recast, no news on with whom yet but younger actors were mentioned (sigh). The thing I liked the best about the pilot was the chemistry between the three leads so this makes me a bit not happy. It seems it will be a bit more BBC3 friendly, and I should probably be less judgy but this is the channel that brought us Dog Borstal, after all. They're also redoing the vampire mythos stuff (Adrien Lester's role is also being recast), which I think is a better idea: there wasn't anything wrong with what they were doing with it, but it did run the risk of constantly reminding me of the vampire groupies from Buffy's Lie To Me. Something more interesting would be good, but basically as long as they don't sparkle or anything we're fine.
In better TV-related news, Tom Baker presenting Have I Got News For You on 31st October! I thought last week's was rather lacklustre; hopefully this one will be better.
