So I have spent most of this evening watching The Sarah Connor Chronicles; the last two episodes of season 1, the season 2 premier and then the season 1 finale again 'cos I loved it so much. Some thoughts on that one, as I watched it for the second time:

- It's all about the connections; lots of humans making intuitive leaps about what's going on and who they can trust and believe. It's a strength, but it's a danger too: following the connections gets you knowledge but it can also get you killed.

- Heh, I love that their reaction is "someone at the door? GET THE GUNS." I know it makes sense and all but it still makes me grin.

- "Last year mom got me a flak jacket."
"That's a tight present."
"No. It's not." Oh, John and Cameron. I love the school trip scene - it says so much about them, about the way John's grown up and what Cameron misses out on by being what she is. (Also there are dinosaur skeletons, always appreciated.) And I'm pleased to see from than bit with the teacher that Cameron's got better at pretending to be human - imitating Jordan's voice a few episodes ago was not very undercover.

- The park scene really really got to me. One of the things I'd been thinking about after seeing Terminator was what it must have been like for future John, being friends with Kyle, knowing he's his father and not being able to tell him, having to send him back in time to his death, and this scene touches on that, plus the actors sell it very well.

- Oh and now it's the FBI raid with the Johnny Cash song in the background, this is such a good scene too - the music and the visuals work together brilliantly.

- I love that sending Cameron out for birthday cake saves Sarah and John's lives, it's such a human thing to do.

And a few random insubstantial thoughts on 2x01:

- EEK a T-1000! I saw about five minutes of Terminator 2 ten years (!!!) ago on a school trip, with the T-1000 being all melty and stabbing people with his metal fingers, and it put me off the whole franchise til, well, now. I foresee lots of hiding behind my knitting in the near future.

- Summer Glau was particularly great, especially in the scene where she's begging John not to take her chip out. CREEPY AS.

- I am torn on the new introductiony bit - I like the visual stuff but I preferred Lena Headey's voice doing the voiceover. (Is the man doing it now someone we already knew? I am terrible at recognising voices.)
