Thank you for the cards, [livejournal.com profile] rosalind_wang and [livejournal.com profile] lucy_bliss! They were waiting for me when I got home after work yesterday, yay! I have sent all my cards to Abroad but due to me getting myself in a muddle over last posting dates some of them may be a bit late. And I didn't think to put my LJ name on them, sigh, so if you get a card from England signed "Jenni" that is probably me.

Yesterday was indeed a day of posty goodness, as I also got the first CD of my shiny new Big Finish subscription, The Maltese Penguin. (I had been rather hoping that it would come in a special shiny Big Finish envelope, but I suppose they haven't the money to waste on such frivolities. Maybe they could have some kind of stamp. Carved out of a potato! Brilliant! But they'd have to pay a Potato Artist to do the carving, and then there's ink, and pretty soon the potato would go all ming and they'd have to buy another one, so really this potato plan is not such a good idea after all. Let's forget I ever had it, shall we? Thanks.) I've listened to both Frobisher audios now and I really like him, so will have to try and get my hands on the comics and book that he's in. By now I have accepted that all my spare money will be going on Dr Who related stuff. The story itself was pretty simple, but then it didn't need to be anything more, it was the details and the characters that sold it. The bit where Frobisher is thinking about what the best form to change into as he falls from a great height was great, it really showed his shapechanging abilities as part of him, rather than just a convenient plot device/joke. Speaking of jokes, it was very funny! I like that in, well, anything really. And the bits with the Doctor trying to persuade Frobisher to travel with him again made me go "aw".
