The time has come, yet again, for me to open my brain and decant some of the thoughts from it. Mmm, brains. Squelchy.
So last weekend I went home for Easter, yays (and returned to Bristol aboard the Doctor Who double yays). Much fun was had, friends were seen, family was bickered with usw. Though the wool shop did not have the wool I wanted, woe and misery. and it was dead good by which I mean the plot didn't make sense but it made me laugh so I didn't care. Plus, zombies! (I'm sure I used to be able to do proper critical thinking but alas I appear to have forgotten how so instead you just get "fire bad tree pretty" level of responses. Though fire is also pretty, it must be said.)
(Why can I never remember how to do lj-cuts without having to look it up? Feh.)
I have also been watching Battlestar Galactica which I am liking, but because I need to vent here is a list of things that annoy me about it:
1) the credits. I hate the bit where it shows a selection of clips from the episode you're about to watch. I am already going to watch the episode, I don't need to be tempted not to turn it off! Luckily the music is very distinctive so I can close my eyes. (Knitting with your eyes shut is weird.)
2) Why is everything octagonal? Octagons don't even tesselate! They seem to be playing this down a bit now, which pleaseth me muchly.
3) "Olympic mumbling team" (SFX) is about right. Enunciate, people! *switches on subtitles*
4) I never know how much time has passed. By that I mean whenever they're counting down stuff on Galactica, I'm always surprised by how much time is supposed to have passed, yet whenever the "Nth day on Caprica" bit comes up I expect a higher number. Oh well.
5) I do not believe the Cylons have a plan. I am willing to be persuaded out of this, though.
Ooo, proper Lost trailers with a start date and actual Season Two content and everyfink!
There were three people in Desperate Housewives last night who had previously guest starred on Firefly. (Two of them offered to marry Susan). This may be a record. Also I recognised a teeny tiny bit of the Chinese!
