Sorcerer to the Crown
WHAT A GOOD. I loved everything about this (even the m/f romance! WONDERS WILL NEVER CEASE) and would like twelve more just like it.

Déjà Vu
I got this free at last year's Nine Worlds and have only just got round to reading it. It's a fun near future sci-fi thriller, slightly marred by a) the actual literal woman in a refrigerator (not there to motivate a man, at least) (though there was a metaphorically fridged woman later on) (sigh) and b) the unnecessary clichéd rape backstory given to one of the characters. On the plus side, I really liked one of the leads, Saskia Brandt: she has some "how do I person" stuff that I enjoyed a lot. And the series is named after her, so I may well end up reading more.

How great was Prunella? Amazing!!

Can I ask something about the third Shadow Police book? Does it get a little less bleak further in? I keep trying it but stumbling over the first bit with Lofthouse and her husband, plus everyone being so flat and depressed for various reasons.
