(I am currently in the process of changing jobs and moving to a new city, so did not really have the wherewithal to say things about books this month! /o\)

Star Wars: Showdown on the Smuggler's Moon
When I read the first volume of this, I said that my opinion on it would stand or fall on how it resolved the cliffhanger of someone showing up claiming to be Han's wife. And... well, going back, I'm surprised I gave it as many as three stars. :( I mean, there was a lot of good stuff there (I loved the art!), but I have very strong feelings about Han's characterisation, plus everything about the resolution of that storyline was so lazy. Ugh.

Didn't finish: Everfair - Nisi Shawl
I really wanted to like this! The premise was cracking - it's alternate history set in a utopian African nation created by purchasing land from Belgium's Leopold II - but the wide geographical and temporal sweep and the huge cast of characters were handled in a way that made it really bitty and hard to get into. It's broken down into tiny chapters (a few pages each) which jump from character to character and place to place, and often a year or two forward in time, so as soon as I started getting into one narrative, it switched to something else, and I ended up just bored and annoyed, because I wanted to care about the characters, but the book just wouldn't let me.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear you didn't get on with Everfair! It's on my list for the premise, but it does sound quite frustrating.

Is that the London job you mentioned going for?

Anyway, either way, congrats on the new job and good luck with the moving!
