I am back from Rome! Had a lovely time, may do picspam later when I have pictures and can be bothered.

On to more important things, ie TV.

Am slightly less gleeful about this one than the previous ones. However there was still much stuff of love.

Oh goody, another female villain. So that's three out of four stories so far with female villains. On the other hand there was that smashing bit when Maria suggests getting her dad to help with the DIY (she is maybe shipping him and Sarah a wee bit?) and then Sarah is all "I am WOMAN, see me WELD."

Clyde is rapidly becoming my favourite character. I love how good humoured he is - that's one of my favourite character traits. He's so adorable with Luke, a lovely blend of kindness and exasperation. Maria was a bit superior with Luke in this episode, I felt, and Clyde's treatment of Luke was a nice contrast. However. Sarah in this episode seems to come down harder on him than the others, which is not good. There are in-story reasons for this of course - Luke is her son and only recently alive, Maria she's known for longer and is in many ways a mini version of Sarah herself - but still, it's a depressing pattern that should have been avoided, especially bearing in mind the less-than-brilliant treatment of Mickey and Martha on Dr Who. Because I am generally quite optimistic, I am hoping that somewhere down the line this will e rectified but I'm also aware that a)there's not a huge amount of line left b)the longer they leave it, the harder it will be to make it better and c)see above, re. depressing pattern already established/ :-(

What I did like about that scene though was Sarah not cutting the children any slack just because they're children. (See also her shouting at Maria when she forgets to put the gloves on, though this is somewhat different as Maria is accidentally putting herself in danger.) She doesn't think like that. Just - the way she immediately turned on Clyde, furious... made me a bit not happy.

Oh! And here is one of the thoughts I forgot about in my last post. Is anyone else a wee bit suspicious of Mr Smith? That bit a few episodes ago when Clyde asked where he came from and Mr Smith immediately told him off for asking questions struck me as a little sinister.

Hurray, hurray for them explicitly using the way in which the sonic lipstick pwns the sonic screwdriver: stealthiness. That made me v. happy.

I really need a new Sarah/SJA icon, much as I love this one.

and then Sarah is all "I am WOMAN, see me WELD."

I know! Awesome much?!

I really like Sarah's gadget thingy that made jelly beans fall from the sky. Now if I could have one of those, they'd have to be real jelly beans naturally, I'd be a happy bunny :)

Is anyone else a wee bit suspicious of Mr Smith?

*raises hand* Oh totally! I'm waiting for the reveal where he's a plant by the Master or someone else she and the Doctor have royally pissed off in the past.

She was really in her element doing that :)

Yay! I'm so excited! Didn't think I would be after everything I've heard about this series but it does look like it'll be good. Plus I miss Harry :)

Probably not, but let's just say if you're an Adam/Ros fan you won't be disappointed *cringes*. Oh it's a different format this year. All 10 episodes are linked instead of having separate ones. I just really want a moment of Harry missing Ruth! We got robbed of one last year because of Adam's breakdown

Yeah, that was pretty much my reaction. I hope so too *fingers crossed* Speaking of the trailer, what do you think of it?? Everytime I see it, I'm sure Adam's about to become a mime lol

I know, I can't believe it's only a few hours away. Will you be watching the second episode on BBC 3??
