Holy crow, woman, you read a lot of books! I wasn't feeling great about this year's count for myself, but not too terrible about it either - 32 - and then I saw this, haha.

It's interesting that I have quite a few other of these books, just never read them yet - Half of a Yellow Sun I bought four years ago, How To Suppress Women's Writing I bought this year, etc. I have far too many unread books!

I will give myself brownie points for the Mariama Ba - I was thinking and thinking, did I read that? I think I read that! I looked it up and, duh, yes I have read it - as Une Si Longue Lettre, the original French, in a university French literature class many years ago (I am old). I still have it upstairs. :)

Heh, it's been a bit of a bumper year for me, reading-wise, what with all the comics, and reading so many books (as opposed to articles) for university! :D

I definitely recommend both of those! (I have far too many unread books too, but I also get twitchy if I don't have plenty of things on hand to read, in case of emergency. ;D)

Ooo, you must read Fire and Hemlock! It's one of my favourites of hers. Enchanted Glass is pretty good too.

I was disappointed by Soulless, not so keen on Tithe and The Fallen Blade, and I didn't like Leviathan as much as I wanted to (though I suspect that was more me than it), but otherwise, I liked most of the things on the list! I'd particularly recommend The White Darkness, Sabriel, Any Human Heart, The Blind Assassin, Rivers of London, The Hunger Games and Kavalier and Clay - those last two made me go "meep! D:" from time to time, but I still thought they were really great.
