- Am having a "too much internet, too little time" type problem. I hereby apologise for anything I have failed to reply to in the past or will fail to reply to in the future. D: Please let me know about things I should've replied to but haven't!

- LJ's new comment page, aside from everything else, appears to have messed up my layout a little. *sigh* And syndicated feeds don't seem to be updating either.

- At home for Christmas, thus I have played many games ("I've just remembered why I live on another continent", commented The Sister, halfway through Trivial Pursuits) and eaten a great deal of food. Also, earlier this evening I overheard my mother remarking that she wanted to use the top oven to heat the plates as the bottom oven "uses ALL the gas". I AM SO PROUD.

- The Sister and I went to see the new Sherlock Holmes film! I may get round to posting about it eventually, but basically I liked it very much, apart from the one thing that I disliked, but I did not dislike that one thing as much as I have disliked other things of that ilk. *vague* In related news, I went to a pub quiz and gained a point for my team by correctly identifying a picture of Jude Law in drag. Hurray!

I liked it very much, apart from the one thing that I disliked, but I did not dislike that one thing as much as I have disliked other things of that ilk - I literally just got back from seeing the film, and COMPLETELY agree! (that is, if I am right in guessing what you are talking about, and I think I probably am). Possibly because, of all the films/books/tv series/etc to feature that particular *thing*, the Sherlock Holmes franchise (for want of a better word) is the *one* place where I really DON'T care if that happens. For me, in all adaptations of SH, *everything* is peripheral to Holmes and Watson's relationship, and these films portray that spectacularly well. It is a great shame about the other thing, because it really didn't have to happen and is stupid and unnecessary, but it doesn't ruin the film for me the way it would in another film, because that is not even slightly what I go to see the film for.

....I hope that made some kind of sense. It's really hard talking in a non-spoilery way! And of course if I'm wrong about what you're referring to, this makes no sense AT ALL.

If you disliked what I disliked, I'm betting it will be undone by the next movie. But if you disliked the bit I loved, I hope it won't! :D

Thank you for your help with the pub quiz! I think the shakespeare game is going to yield a lot of good (dare I say improved?!) quotes. Sleep is the monkey of death!

Happy Christmas!

I might get to watch SH2 at some point, so it's good to know people liked it.

In other news, I've received your card, thank you very much.

And I've also finally noticed you were following me on Tumblr, so I've followed you and stuck a ton of your posts in my queue (so if you get repeated reblogging emails, sorry about that). And, having just finished The Lonely Hearts Job, I must squee to someone who might know what I'm talking about: ayuqioefwbcjmqsbgvfbudndbvdwiefefinjdw<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3LEVERAGEaw, ELIOT, how much do I love what they're doing this season.
