not entirely TV this time

- Wait, that was the last Primeval this season? It didn't really feel like a finale, though I don't know if that was because I didn't realise it was, or because they knew they had another season when they made it. Here are my thoughts on it:

• I laughed out loud at "olivertwistosaurus". OH CONNOR. Also: "I don't know what that does." ♥


• Between the hair and the earrings, Jess was looking rather glamtastic this week. I approve!


• NO EMILY DON'T GO. They were setting her up for a return next season, right? I'm not just telling myself that because I want to believe it, right? D:


• Really awesome location, though I felt they didn't quite make as much of it as they could've done.


• Becker really grew on me in the scene where they were all reunited with Danny, which is good, because I've been a bit "meh" on him all season, and I prefer to like characters rather than not.


• I love Abby so much. I just feel the need to say that every now and then.

- I haven't flailed about Legend of the Seeker for a while, clearly that is something I need to rectify. I am up to 2x16 ("Desecrated"), which I LOVED.

• CARA DECLARING HER LIKE FOR KAHLAN, THAT WAS SO FANTASTIC ♥ ♥ ♥ And the HUG where Cara doesn't quite know how to respond! CARA. And then the FIGHT and the HANDHOLDING OH GIRLS ♥ ♥ ♥


• Not to mention Cara's face in reaction to the whole birthday party shenanigans. I LOVE HER. And her attempts to pretend she didn't actually like Kahlan after all! And Kahlan totally seeing through her! ...yeah, I loved that episode a whole lot.


• I also laughed tremendously at the "stand on tiptoes"/"I AM." bit. And Richard's cheery "can't wait to see what you do next year!" AW.


• Predictably, I also loved "Princess". *g* Cara pretending to be a lady! And her POEM! And her just deciding to do things her way, and it WORKING! :D


• It was a great episode for Kahlan too, between "there is no law in the Midlands save that which I enforce", and that final sequence of her going round and teasing all three of the others individually about their disguises. ♥


• And finally, "Baneling": CARA GOT ALL THE INFORMATION SHE NEEDED OUT OF THAT GUY, AFTER HE'D CUT HER THROAT. Seriously, how is she so awesome? And then she was just so matter of fact about becoming a baneling: no moral dilemma, she'd just decided that this was the best way of carrying on with her mission. ♥ (I also liked that even when she was licking magical unbanelingifying water off Richard's fingers, their relationship still seemed to be being played as platonic. Not that I am particularly anti Richard/Cara, I just like it when programmes don't feel the need to enshippify every male/female friendship.)

- Ooo, and while I remember, anyone who has the region 1 DVDs of the third season of Avatar: the Last Airbender: are the extras worth an extra £10? Lovefilm doesn't have that season, so I'm going to buy it instead, but the region 2 set doesn't have any extras.

- In non-tv stuff, I am reading The Nine Tailors and finding it PROFOUNDLY TERRIFYING for reasons I cannot adequately explain. D:

I've not read The Nine Tailors yet - I'm currently focusing on the stories with Harriet Vane after listening to Strong Poison on BBC R7 the other week - but now I'm intrigued.

Harriet Vane is awesome, you can't go wrong with her stories! (Well, I haven't read Busman's Honeymoon yet, but I've heard that it's great.) And the ones without her are mostly really good too. BBC7's run an adaptation of The Nine Tailors a couple of times, but I've never managed to hear the end...

I listened to Strong Poison, and Bellona Club before it - enjoyed them both, but I particularly liked Harriet.

I haven't managed to hear either of those, I don't think, though I have read them both. They seem to come round fairly often, so will have to try and catch them next time I'm not busy! Harriet makes everything better - I don't think I'd've enjoyed Have His Carcase nearly so much without her.

You like all the same things I do! Cara and Kahlan, and short jokes, and torture poetry, and Cara being awesome even while dead, oh my, I love this show so much.

Before Desecrated first aired, they released these promo images of the tomb fight, and I don't think I've ever been as excited about an episode of anything before. LITTLE DID I KNOW THERE WOULD ALSO BE ~LOVE DECLARATIONS~ AND HUGS.

Primeval is indeed rather fun. It is never quite as entertaining as I want it to be, but it has some great moments. :D

LotS is so awesome! Why did it take me so long to get round to watching it?

Definitely worth continuing with Avatar! It just gets better and better. Season two is fantastic!

The Nine Tailors is one of my favourite DLS novels ever. Are you reading it for the first time?

Also, I should really rewatch (and re-cap) LotS one day, but I keep thinking that of so many fannish things and never manage to cleverly re-arrange my schedule. *sigh* I agree with you that Cara and Kahlan are AWESOME, though.

They are! ♥ And I know what you mean - I'm part way through rewatching so many things, there's just not enough time for all of them. :(
