"I have to be my own Romana"
Sunday, 7 November 2010 19:53Happy belated birthday,
the_smut_fairy!
"Warriors' Gate"!
On to lovely "Keeper of Traken"! When I have watched all the "Warriors' Gate" extras and have time and stuff. But right now I have to go and make some cake, because I have run out, and this is not a situation that should be allowed to continue.
"Warriors' Gate"!
- Aw, Adric is kind of adorable at the beginning of this one. And I rather sympathise with him, all left out from the Doctor and Romana being clever at each other.
- THE VISUALS. SO BEAUTIFUL. The stately parade of freed Tharils, that shot panning from the ship to the gateway to the TARDIS, everything in the void, the weird black and white world... LOVE.
- Such a wonderful Romana story, as is right and proper. Confusing the slavers, climbing the ladder with the shackles in her teeth (already knowing what to do), her decision at the end, just everything really. I love all the things she does with her face. She's gone from dressing up like the Doctor to just being really Doctorish in her own right, and her own way. SO MUCH LOVE.
- Oh, K9! And the Doctor's concern for him! ♥
- OK the plot is all over the place, but the atmosphere is so wonderful that I don't mind.
- I love that we have Four's original hat, coat and scarf on the hatstand in the background, it's a lovely reminder of how far we've come.
- The first episode was FULL OF AWESOME but I watched it a week ago and have forgotten most of it. D:
- "I don't know what these levers do, but they're pointing at you!" GO ADRIC GO. He loses points for willingness to abandon the Tharils, but gains them back for coming up with a solution.
- "Alright? She'll be superb." *weeps* Also, NOBLEST ROMANA OF THEM ALL.
