1) There is an anon love meme going on! I have found a few people's threads, but if you have one, let me know where it is so I can say inarticulate yet sincere things about how great you are. ♥

2) Does anyone know why LJ is so slow at the moment? It is really irritating, especially when I am trying to do newsletters. :/

3) I watched Blake's 7's "Warlord" and have some thoughts on it, not all of which are about the outfits!

  • Though some of them are about the oufits, because Avon's suited him much better this week than that black and white thing he has been wearing all season. Hurray! Everyone else has done rather well out of this season's "one costume per character" policy, though: I do occasionally get distracted by how beautiful Vila looks. Also, can we talk about Zeeona's hair? BECAUSE IT WAS AMAZING.

  • On non-costume related things, I really liked Soolin helping Zeeona defy her father. Soolin does not approve of people being forced to do things they don't want to.

  • Also on a Soolin note, Avon looked like he really believed Soolin had sold him out, at least for a moment. And I don't know, I think she might've, if that was her only option.

  • (Back to the costumes for a moment, that one leader person was wearing the Seal of Rassilon on his chest! BBC cost-cutting strikes again...)

  • Zeeona was great, but her death was stupid. [personal profile] vilakins suggested that she might've had to take her glove off to do whatever it was she did to save the day, which would also explain why Avon seemed to know what was going to happen, but I wish they'd actually mentioned that in the episode at all.

  • Interesting that Dayna goes to pieces a tad when trapped in the base, though it makes sense: she's facing something she can't fight, and as soon as she's given the possibility of doing something she elbows Zeeona out of the way to do it. Though she should've been out there digging the tunnel with Tarrant and Vila, there's no reason for her not to unless they were digging in shifts, which they never said they were.

  • Intellectually I know that having Servalan turn out to be the surprise villain in practically every episode this season is a bit silly, but in my heart I can never be sad when she turns up. ♥

  • And now I am off to spend the rest of the week mentally preparing myself for "Blake". D: (I have known what happens for ages, due to incautious use of the internet. And also the BBC showed a clip in one of the early Doctor Who Confidentials. The Sister was somewhat distressed, as she hadn't known.)

I don't know why LJ is slow - but it clearly needs a kick up the pants!

I know! I've had that happen several times and have pulled a face just like Martha's. (It's sad how much use this icon's got since I uploaded it!)

I caught the original broadcast of "Blake" (showing my age a bit there!).
It was a terrible shock at the time. I miss the days before the internet and spoilers.

I wish there wss some treatment or hypnosis that could offer selective amnesia, so I could Find Out once again.

Mmmm the beauty of Vila, even when he has the same outfit on for weeks on end.

Yeah, neither one really makes sense, especially since we saw them in so many different outfits in earlier seasons. I'm going to guess that they just don't have a lot of clothes on Scorpio/at Dorian's. :(

I explain it by having Dorian keep a huge number of identical grey outfits for his frequent short-term guests. Offering a bath and a change of clothes probably lulls them into a false sense of safety. As it's one or two styles for each size, our guys don't have much choice.

I prefer Vila in warmer colours myself but he does sometimes look particularly stunning in S4. Maybe he lost weight or something.

I do occasionally get distracted by how beautiful Vila looks.

Only occasionally? I confess to FFing episodes after watching them just to look at the Vila scenes again. Hem hem.

Avon also looked really taken aback when Soolin said he lied well.

Ahahaha, I never noticed about the seal of Rassilon. I haven't seen much old Who but I've seen it about. As for Zeeona's hair, it was one of the things I remembered most from watching B7 as a kid. I thought it was stunning.

I OTOH find Servalan always being involved very wearying. One appearance in S4 was one too many. She should have gone with the Lib.

I'm not sure I'm actually watching next week even though I cling to the fact that it was written as a cliff-hanger.

I even made up an SF character with orange and black hair similar to Zeeona's, years ago.

I'm not sure I'll watch because of how much I hated it the first time as a kid (I was upset for days) and the second time when all those feelings came back. The way some people revel in the tragedy also upsets me.
