"High five! For morale!"
Saturday, 7 August 2010 21:151) Happy belated birthdays to
revolutionaren and
glinda!
2) I had the day off yesterday, and I have more days off on Monday and Tuesday, hurrah. Yesterday I went shopping and tried on many dresses, all of which looked terrible on me. Possibly this is my mutant power. Today I got started on cleaning ALL the things with much tidying and hoovering and dusting, so now I am exhausted. Boo.
3) Other plans for the weekend involve catching up on telly. I have begun by watching the last but one episode of Leverage (3x07, "The Gone Fishing Job"), which I loved a great deal. It made me howl with laughter many times, and there was an xkcd shoutout! Awesome. Other thoughts:
4) Also, I knitted something! And finished it! (Well, almost, haven't woven the trailing yarn ends in yet, due to laziness.) And liked it! And even managed to take a picture of it that I don't hate.

This was the pattern I used. I really love it! The only thing I changed was the neckline, which was coming out too small, but looking at the picture I think that was because I was casting off too tightly. But otherwise, it worked brilliantly and I really enjoyed making it (except the provisional cast on. I detest provisional cast on, it turns out). I learned two new casting off methods, and also that cables are not nearly as scary as I think. Win all round!

- Oh, everyone's FACES when they thought Eliot and Hardison might be dead!
- PARKER INNA BOWLER HAT.
- I liked the old-school mystery touches - the secret room behind a fake bookcase and Eliot working out where they were by counting how long they were moving for.
- ELIOT'S FACE.
- Bickering in the forest! When Christian Kane tweeted that Hardison/Eliot fans would enjoy this episode, I wondered if he meant fans of Hardison and/or Eliot, but no, he really did mean Hardison/Eliot fans. And I did indeed enjoy it. ♥

Date: 7 Aug 2010 21:42 (UTC)I love that tweet so much for how matter-of-factly he basically said "here's your slash fodder!"
Also, I am totally jealous of your top! I've only managed knitting scarves and gloves so far, so I am mightily impressed!

Thank you! It's a really good pattern for learning new things, I think: it uses lots of different techniques, and it's very clearly written.

Date: 7 Aug 2010 21:46 (UTC)It doesn't look like it's at all stretched when you're wearing it, so what wool do you use to stop it getting baggy and too big? Or is that to do with needle size vs wool thickness? The short sleeve jumper I made has gone baggy :-( Maybe I need it to shrink in heh wash?
