full of the joys of, er, winter

Snooowwwww. We had about three or four inches overnight, and I walked to work with it crunching and creaking under my feet, lovely. (Here is a picture I took on my way to work.) On the minus side it was freezing at work: yesterday was the first day back after Christmas and something had gone wrong with the heating, so it didn't even get switched on until nearly lunchtime, and it was only just beginning to warm the building a little today. So yesterday we were all huddled in our coats (and, in my case, my knitted armwarmers (NB I do have a little finger, but it is not pictured here)) shivering, and today wasn't that much better. But on the plus side the library closed early, so I went home at 4.45 instead of 7.30 and have been spending the evening reading all the lovely things in my fandom_stocking and grinning all over my face. ♥

Thank you! It's not, but these two from last year are! I wish I'd brought my camera to work today, the light's much better than it was yesterday.

Wristwarmers are great! I usually wear them all winter and I'd forgotten how much fumblier I am wearing gloves...

I don't mind the wading so much, except when it's deeper than my boots are tall, but the skidding on day two when it's all frozen is distinctly unfun!

Yeah, that's definitely unfunny. I used a walking stick to keep my balance yesterday - and I saw plenty of other young-ish people doing the same.
