"Face the front, please, Little Ron."
Wednesday, 30 December 2009 12:47- Happy belated birthday,
stoplookingup! Hope you had a great day.
- Oh dear, I really am terrible at posting during the holidays. Here are some things what I have been doing:
1) Saw Sherlock Holmes. Loved Sherlock Holmes. It was smashing! There were fights and explosions and jokes and deductin'. Jude Law made a fantastic Watson, RDJ was brill (but then he generally is) and they had BOATLOADS of chemistry. I love what they've done with Irene Adler, and Mary was great too. (OT4 time now, please.) The whole thing was done with loads of wit and verve and joy. Bring on the inevitable sequel, says I. I did zone out once or twice during the exposition, but that may just have been because I was distracted by my attempts to unstick my feet from the cinema floor.
2) Had lovely people round last night, played games and also watched the first three episodes of Maid Marian and her Merry Men (apologies to anyone who will now have the theme tune in their head for the rest of the day). This is by far the best version of Robin Hood ever and I defy anyone to tell me otherwise. YES.
3) Working on stuffs for
fandom_stocking, somewhat hampered by my inability to write ficlets without getting carried away and going on and on and on.
4) I have done other things but either I have forgotten about them or they are uninteresting to people who are not me, so there we go.

Date: 30 Dec 2009 23:14 (UTC)Like Blackadder, but even sillier, which I can't help but approve of. I watched it first time round too - I think I was just the right age to appreciate it.
I keep meaning to watch Robin of Sherwood, I've heard so many good things about it.

Date: 30 Dec 2009 23:54 (UTC)Robin of Sherwood is great, from the time when ITV used to be good and had regional programme makers and whatnot. It's all lovely and mystical woo-eighties, with great writing and locations and characters and acting. I'd recommend it to anyone.
