So I have just watched Smith and Jones...
Yays! Oh that was so much fun. Exuberant and energetic and breathless and lots of good lines (GCSE magnetics! snerk), the sort of episode that leaves me with a big grin on my face. Martha! She was excellent, yes. In particular I loved the bit where she was trying to reassure the Doctor that everything was going to be ok. And she is thinky! (unlike me, apparently...) She works out what's going on and tries to think about what she should do next rather than just getting stuck on moon! aliens! help! (barring the odd understandable freakout.) The shot of her and the Doctor going out onto the terrace was great, they were completely in tune with each other, scared but excited at the same time. Also she is pretty which is nice. And the Doctor had to run around without his shoes for a bit, just like Harry did. Oh Harry, I miss you. ANYWAY. The Martha-meets-the-TARDIS bits were fun too, especially the Doctor mouthing along with "it's bigger on the inside" and Martha pointing out that it's made of wood. RTD keeps going on about this line but it is pretty good, makes you wonder why no-one's mentioned that before. Oh and there were aliens too or something. I liked them. The rhino heads do not freak me out like the Sontaran potato heads do so that's good. And the lady alien brought her own straw. HAH! So new series starting on a high, good-o.

Date: 31 Mar 2007 20:00 (UTC)On Doctor Who Confidential, RTD was talking about the the press viewing and he left half way through and found Jo Wiley outside with her kids because they'd gotten scared. I thought that was very cute. Poor kids. Now everybody's going to know! But they get to go to press launches so I'm not too sympathetic.

Date: 1 Apr 2007 10:10 (UTC)The press launch looked like so much fun. Was v. jealous earlier in the week when Chris Moyles on radio 1 said he'd been to it, how come Moyles gets to go and I don't? heh. Being scared probably means Jo Wiley's kids will remember it at least - the only memory I have of watching Dr Who when I was little is of being scared of the Daleks!
