Doctor Who: Gallifrey

My Gallifrey audio books arrived yesterday, and I had the afternoon off, so I have listened to all of Chapter 1 and most of Chapter 2.
I'm really enjoying them so far. I would probably like it just for the fact that both leads are female - it's nice to see the gender imbalance going in the other direction for a change , and I like that there are also some interesting female minor characters, especially since their gender is more or less irrelevant to their characterisation. Though it would have been nice to have more gender diversity in the exotic dancers. Romana is just so fantastic and a natural President. I love her interactions with Leela (and am very curious to find out what she's going to make her dress up as next, all in the name of undercover work of course!). The characterisation of the two leads is good, Romana is warm, logical, witty and Leela is very well written - she is primitive but not stupid, compassionate, honourable. I enjoyed seeing bits of Gallifreyan society and liked the contrast with how things were on Gryben. I'm wondering if Andred's missingness is going to come up again or if it was just a device to get him out of the way? It seemed to matter a lot to Leela in the first chapter but didn't get mentioned in the second one (unless it's in the very last bit that I haven't heard yet!). Lastly, I can't believe that I didn't realise how awesome two K9s would be! Hee!
And now I am filled with enthusiasm for audios (logical, since I tend to treat tv as a bit like radio anyway, concentrating on my knitting or whatever rather than the pictures). Hurray, they seem to be reasonably cheap on eBay!
