Friday night picspam!
Friday, 12 June 2009 17:23Den of Geek have done a piece on the top ten sexiest men of Doctor Who. It strikes me as a slightly eccentric list, but I suppose that is par for the course given that a) sexiness is not really something that can be measured objectively and b) there are a lot of men to choose from in Doctor Who. Anyway, I am glad of it, because it gives me an opportunity to rectify their omissions through the medium of picspam. Some of these pictures were a bit big, so I shrunk them - click on them to get the full size versions.
Let's start with Mr Mickey Smith, Esq., defender of Earth, killer of Cybermen, and generally more awesome than initially advertised:
I can't help but notice that there are no Doctors on Den of Geek's list, which seems a little strange. So here are all the Doctors:
And here is Richard E. Grant, since he has played Nine and Ten and therefore surely counts:
Also, bonus Paul McGann!
Possibly the lack of Doctors is due to some strange Time Lord based blind spot, because you know who else is missing? ROGER DELGADO.
Not to mention John Simm, who has excellent taste in coats:
Now, companions! I am reliably informed that the very beginning is a very good place to start, so let's have a picture of Ian. He can stop any monster you choose, as long as he is provided with sufficient cardigans.
I can't believe I've got this far without any pictures of Harry, who, as everyone who's read Wolfsbane will know, is entirely pure of heart. He does, however, tend to come off worse when battling oversize molluscs, but then you can't have everything in this life.
Proceeding in a vaguely chronological fashion, here is HEEEXXXXX. I know he is audio only, but since Philip Olivier has been so kind as to pose with his shirt off on many many occasions, it would be churlish not to include him. Though I appear to have gone for a picture in which he is in fact fully clothed.
And while we're in the realm of audioness, let's not neglect Nick Briggs (plus moar bonus Paul McGann, showing my biases there a bit, ahem):
Or, indeed, Conrad Westmaas (look, Paul McGann is in all my Conrad Westmaas pics, ok?):
And hey, Alexander Siddig was in an audio, right? (Dear BBC, please cast him in telly Who and thereby give me a less flimsy excuse for including him in my picspams, thank you! Also I am still bitter that he is not Eleven. Just so you know.)
Now, where were we? Ah yes. Some people count him as a companion, some don't, but I think we can all agree that Brigadier Alastair Gordon Lethbridge Stewart belongs in this picspam.
And while we're talking about UNIT, here's the very lovely Corporal/Sergeant/RSM (delete where not applicable) John Benton:
And, of course, Captain Hawkins!
Also from the department of secondary characters, we have Marco Polo:
Duggan (fists at the ready) and friends. ("I wish Duggan was a Time Lord," said my sister, when we'd finished watching City of Death, "then he could be in EVERY EPISODE.")
Andred and his tight trousers and poet shirt (not pictured, and now I want fic where he and Fitz bond over their mutual love of Really Big Shirts) deserve a mention:
And some RADA chaps from The Ark in Space:
And many, many more, who I have tragically forgotten about, and also if I never see the Photobucket upload screen again it will be too soon. Supplementary picspams are encouraged!

Date: 12 Jun 2009 19:14 (UTC)Also Harry is totally pure of heart and therefore pwns pretty much everyone! (I LOVED that bit in Wolfsbane - thanks for mentioning it and making me re-read it!)
And yays for teh Brig and Benton, for they are lovely!
Also, that's a bit contrary of you to included shirt-ed!Hex, not shirtless!Hex, surely? :D
I hadn't thought of Alexander Siddig for the Doctor - but yeah, he'd be an interesting choice. (Just saw him in an ep of Spooks S2 earlier, funnily enough!) And I'd like to see Ben Daniels play the Master - since he so often plays bastards, I think he'd be good!

Date: 12 Jun 2009 19:46 (UTC)Alexander Siddig was great in Spooks - I'd forgotten that his episode was that early on. I must admit that I am mostly very keen that he should be on my telly every week again, but I do also think he'd be a good Doctor.

Hee! Yep, but I thought it was such a lovely picture that I couldn't resist :)

He was a good doctor - in DS9!

Date: 12 Jun 2009 19:23 (UTC)(The Who Anon picspam is so incredibly handy
the Harry Sullivan picspam was so made by me ;D)But yeah, that list was rather strange, not to mention the picture of Eugene Jones under the heading of Elton Pope.
Yay, Duggan!

That was weird!
The Harry Sullivan picspam was excellent. I'm so glad someone decided to set up a masterlist.

I'll stop there because otherwise I'll start spamming you with more pictures of the UNIT boys. :)

Date: 13 Jun 2009 00:12 (UTC)I realized last night after bemoaning the lack of Harry that they'd left out Mickey and the UNIT boys as well. Insanity!
