The acronym "dw" is applicable to all the things in this post
Thursday, 28 May 2009 11:381) I have a spare hardcopy of Vortexxxxxxx magazine to give away if anyone wants it gone! - Big Finish sent my copies of The Mahogany Murders and Enemy of the Daleks in separate envelopes this month, for some obscure reason.
2) Is there an easy way to code Dreamwidth usernames into Livejournal posts? Like so:
shinyjenni. I have a method, but it involves an awful lot of code and copy 'n' pasting, and I'm sure there must be an easier way!
3) I finished Reckless Engineering last night! I thoroughly enjoyed it and sat up rather later than I should have to read it. Quick thoughts:
- Yes, I did indeed squee every time somewhere in Bristol that I knew of was mentioned. And that was a lot. Actual windmills on Windmill Hill!
- Am now shipping Fitz/Anji a bit, since it was tremendously shippy for them. ♥ I particularly love that she's teaching him to swim, that's exactly the sort of incidental detail that makes me happy.
- Fitz's descriptions of himself and Anji - "sixties cat" and "twenty-first century fully functional organised person" respectively - tickled me immensely.
- The "destroying the timeline will kill all these people" element was handled far better here than it was in The Domino Effect. Although I wasn't desperately keen on any of the original characters, Anji's reaction to Gottleib's death was very well done - as far as I remember, that's the first time she's seen how ruthless the Doctor can be when he has to, isn't it? And poor Fitz, having to deal with a whole new set of memories again.
