I don't seem to have quite got into the swing of posting and commenting and such yet. Sorry about that! I did do that "I write like..." meme that's been doing the rounds; I plugged in no more working for a week or two, my Eight-Fitz-Anji fic, got Douglas Adams, went "excellent, that is exactly what I was aiming for!" and retired happy.
Channel Five has started showing Grey's Anatomy again, after a two year break. BAILEY IS THE BEST OF THEM. THIS IS A KNOWN FACT. Also, I like Meredith a lot more than I remember doing, and George and Izzie a little less. In the latter case, this may be due to George/Izzie, which dragged both of them down. I did appreciate the bit where George decided that he was going to stop being all mopey and selfish and go back to being the George that Bailey named her son after. OH THE EPISODE WITH BAILEY'S SON. *cries* Cristina foregoing surgery to hold his hand! ♥ (Cristina is also great.) Something I like a lot is how Meredith, Izzie and Cristina (and now Lexie too, I am quite fond of Lexie) are all in their various ways a bit weird. And the Derek/Meredith relationship I actually find quite interesting, because it's all about whether they can compromise enough to be together when they want such different things, and whether it's really worth it, and there's all this constant renegotiation and I love it. (I may feel differently after a few more seasons of it.) Meredith called Derek on his lying to her! Derek just wants everything to be easy and nice, and he lies to make that happen and is upset when people calls him on it, because he is just trying to make everything NICER, why can't anyone see that? Um, what else? Any scene with the Chief, Mark and/or Derek negotiating the choppy waters of MAN FRIENDSHIP is awesome. I laugh whenever Hahn is mean to someone, though I feel sorry for Cristina, who doesn't really deserve it. CALLIE. SHE IS GREAT, I LOVE HER A LOT.
I watched Leverage! It was GRATE.

- "Where's Eliot?"/"Oh, he had to change his shirt, he got some coffee on it... and some blood, some teeth..."
- Nate can't work anything because Hardison changed all the settings! But you know he was just making it all more efficient, and everything would be fine if everyone would just read the emails he sends out, really, he doesn't know why he bothers sometimes.
- Parker's antagonism towards the client is hilarious. I am a bit sad that it breaks Parker's habit of getting on fairly well with other women, though.
- There is a LADY to distract. GO ELIOT GO.
- "I've got great drugs, do you want some?" OH PARKER.
- Eliot: *flirt mode: activated*
- "...fair enough." Oh, I LOVE it when someone tells Nate off. It actually makes me like him more.
- PRETZELS. I CAN'T EVEN. I just ADORE how they're developing the Hardison/Parker relationship; they're not stringing it out for the sake of stringing it out, it's driven by who these characters are and how they would react to this sort of situation. And the Sophie/Parker conversation was lovely: it could've been a stereotypical "girly" conversation, but it was led entirely by their personalities. (The only worry I have is that between Hardison/Parker and Nate/Sophie, Eliot will end up as the fifth wheel, which would make him (and therefore me) sad, as well as messing with the team dynamic. But hopefully they will avoid this.)

Date: 16 Jul 2010 11:51 (UTC)I would be ok with him as a character if the show acknowledged his flaws? But I feel like too often as the show went on I would be like 'what?! douche!' and the show'd be telling me 'see how wonderful he is? isn't she lucky?' and, yeah.
Ahem.
Aw, Grey's Anatomy. :)
Hai. ;D

Now you mention it... yes, this. One of the episodes I've just seen had a bit with Addison telling Mer not to let Derek go, and I just couldn't help thinking, she had a perfectly good reason for that! She was willing to commit to him a little more than she had, and he immediately pulled out the plans for their (his) DREAM HOUSE and lied to her AGAIN. D: I don't really like Derek individually, but I do find Mer/Der quite interesting because they do have real reasons for both wanting to be together and not being able to make it work, it's not just manufactured drama (or it isn't at the moment anyway). Actually in general I like Derek's relationships with other people a lot more than I like him, which is a bit weird!
