usuallyhats: The cast of Critical Role sitting round a table playing Dungeons and Dragons (big finish are love)

1.) Have been watching the videos on the Big Finish facebook group and they are making me v. happy. I particularly liked the tour of Big Finish Towers (yes, it does include the Room With Duvets Stapled to the Walls, as mentioned on the podcasts), which are (is?) smaller than I expected. OH BIG FINISH, ♥! On the subject of Big Finish, I hear that there is going to be a free audio with the next DWM, featuring Five and Turlough. EXCELLENT.

2.) I have just booked train tickets to go to Brussels in April with my mother; does anyone have any recs of things to do, things to see, places to eat (I am assuming that at some point there will be waffles) etc?

3.) Meme nicked from [livejournal.com profile] agapi42, [livejournal.com profile] nentari and [livejournal.com profile] hhertzof

List all of the television shows you have on DVD, no matter how obscure or embarrassing. Even if you only own one season, list it! Let's see who has what!

Angel (all five seasons)
Babylon 5 (seasons 1 and 4)
Battlestar Galactica (new version, just the pilot movie thingy, which I really love, because after that I just got increasingly annoyed with it until I gave up halfway through season three)
Black Books (complete)
Blake's 7 (series 1-3, nothing against series 4 (which I haven't even seen yet) which I am intending to get eventually!)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (complete)
Dead Like Me (complete)
Doctor Who: classic (MANY)
Doctor Who: new (season one)
Firefly
The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Maid Marian and her Merry Men (complete)
Press Gang (complete)
Red Dwarf IV, V and VI
Star Trek Deep Space Nine (Seasons 1, 2 and 4-7. I would have three as well, but they didn't have that one in the Borders sale for some reason, and having paid £7.50 each for the other seasons I am in no hurry to spend £30 odd on it!)
Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles (season one)
Ultraviolet
The Wire (season two, missing the last disc)

I wish LibraryThing included DVDs too! That would please my nerdy heart.

Ooh, Brussels! It's been ages since I've been but I loved it.

The biggest tourist destinations are the Grand Place and the Mannekin Pis. I wasn't really impressed by the Mannekin Pis, to be honest.

Waffles are sold by vendors on the street, which I thought was cool. I'd try out as many beers as possible, and the chocolate! I was staying with a friend, so we didn't eat out much.

If I remember correctly, there were quite a few pubs and restaurants near the Grand Place. We also went to a to mini-Europe (http://www.bruxelles-tourisme.be/informations/tourist_attractions_laeken__mini_europe/en/V/15834.html).

You know I live in Belgium and work in Brussels, don't you? (Having said which I may not be around when you are.)

Nice but not excessively expensive food place: Le Roi d'Espagne in the Grand'Place. You can sit upstairs (or outside if weather is good) and see everything going on in the square. (There is a chocolate museum on the Grand'Place as well.)

Lots of good museums but depends what you are loooking for really!

I don't know where it is, but I do know from someone who went to Brussels that there is one street that has all Greek restaurants on the one side, and all Turkish restaurants on the other. Between the barkers for each restaurant, it's apparently a bit of a gauntlet, but the food is good.

Oh, and for those interested in comic books, they take it verrrry seriously in Brussels. I believe there's a museum to the bande dessinée somewhere about.

From my very brief visit to Brusssels a few years ago, I recall that food they do well, and lots of, includes not only waffles, but also fish. I thought you might like to know that. Many restaurants around the touristy bit in the centre.
Also, there was a lace museum. Which is the sort of thing that floats my proverbial, though I'm not sure about you.

Have fun.

They serve excellent mussels! Try and catch the light show in the Grand Place - when I visited Brussels they put it on every night during the winter months. The Town Hall is part of the Grand Place and contains a decent museum.
