- Am halfway through Doctor Who and the Pirates; so much love! Singing! (well, not yet, but it's IMMINENT.) Pirates! Bill Oddie as the villain! The framing device with Evelyn and the Doctor telling the story is great too, very funny and also intriguing. Every time I listen to a Sixth Doctor audio I love him a little more. Speaking of, I also listened to The Doomwood Curse recently, not as fabtastic as Jacqueline Rayner's stuff usually is, but still lots of fun. Could have done with more Grel, and more of Six and Charley together, though.
- Last night I watched three episodes of The Sarah Connor Chronicles (I'm up to "The Demon Hand" now), which I am also loving - at the end of every episode I find myself thinking, "oh, go on, just one more scene, please?" Between seeing the first four episodes and these three, I've actually got around to watching the first two films, so now I'm spotting all the references and stuff that I missed before, which is cool. I like that I don't know which way they're going to go with Cameron - there's all these hints that she might go bad, but also lots of bits with her maybe trying to be more human, and sometimes it's the same thing, it's great. And on that note, ballet envy, I wish I could do that but sadly I scraped through my ballet exams with pass or pass plus. Oh, and one more thing, I just realised that all the flashbacks in "Dungeons and Dragons" were also flashforwards! Shiny!
- The Mother and I are planning to go to Madrid for a few days at the end of October, so if anyone has any recommendations of things to see and do/places to eat etc, that would be very shiny.
- Have been spending lots of time merrily adding books to LibraryThing, apparently you can add audio books too, which I like. Plus, tags! I love tags. ...This is not really helping with my resolution to spend less time noodling about on the internets, is it?

Date: 12 Sep 2008 13:50 (UTC)Oh isn't it fun??!! I thoroughly enjoyed it when I listened to it a few months ago.
I'm (right at this minute) listening to the Companions Chronicle - Old Soldiers - the Brig FTW!

Date: 12 Sep 2008 14:38 (UTC)And I'm terribly amused that you watched the first two films; really, I tend to pretend the third didn't happen at all. The TV show certainly does (or hasn't got there in its continuity yet, and isn't in a hurry to do so). I'm hugely ambivalent about the fourth coming up - I just cannot get my head around Christian Bale as John Connor. :( That said, I've come to accept Lena Headley as Sarah - even if Linda Hamilton is still the definitive Sarah for me. Oh dear, now I'm sounding like a tinhat.

Date: 12 Sep 2008 15:00 (UTC)NEEDZ MOAR GREL is just about my reaction to every audio, so I feel ya. And I couldn't agree more about Six and Charley together. I don't understand why they are doing this. It can't be a scheduling thing as these audios are recorded pretty quickly. I just don't get it.
Every time I listen to a Sixth Doctor audio I love him a little more.
Again, agree 1000000000000000%. My love for him is pretty much epic at this point.

Yep! I did it with Stargate once, got to the end credits and went: "wow, that was shorter and more confusing than usual. Also, no opening credits. ...hang on!"

Date: 12 Sep 2008 20:22 (UTC)I did! *flails* The last episode was so, so good.
I'd sort of gathered that the first two films were far better than the third, so I rented those two and decided to wait until I stumble across the third on TV or something. I really like Lena Headey as Sarah, but as soon as I saw the films I understood why everyone seems to prefer Linda Hamilton - she's absolutely brilliant!

Date: 12 Sep 2008 20:48 (UTC)I think you're right about the reasoning, re: Six and Charley. But their chemistry is so great. The BF peeps have said they are gonna resolve that "why doesn't Eight recognize her" issue eventually, but if it means more of Six and Charley actually together, they need to deal with it ASAP.
