Monday, 16 November 2009 11:47Merlin was proper good this week, I thought. HOWEVER. I have had it up to here with people almost but not quite finding out about Merlin's powers. And I am not sure I can take any more of Merlin lying to people for his their own good. If we get to the end of the season with Gaius still being the only regular cast member knowing the truth, I shall... make an annoyed post here, you see if I don't. Actually, I think I like this episode more if I assume that Arthur knows or at least suspects about Merlin, and all his "what would you know about magic?"/"maybe magic isn't evil after all"/"magic is DEFFO EVIL, amirite?" was at least partly intended to needle Merlin into telling him the truth. Also, I choose to believe that Arthur didn't entirely believe Merlin's lies at the end, he just used it as an excuse not to kill Uther. Shush you, I can make up my own canon if I like.
I was also a little cheesed off at the whole "lol a girl doing fightings" reaction to Morgause (whose name it seems I have been pronouncing wrongly all these years, whoops) because, hello, you all have met Morgana ever, yes? But other than that she was WINLY WIN and I hope we see lots more of her and she doesn't die. YES.
(I did not watch The Waters of Mars; I find it much easier to be zen about New Who if I don't watch too much of it, also I cannot stand Ten. I watched The Sontaran Experiment instead, which was not that great but anything featuring the Four-Sarah-Harry team is A-OK by me.)
I worked on Saturday (and also ended up doing the late shift on Friday night), which was actually quite good as it was blowing a gale and tipping down with rain, so it was nice to be somewhere warm and dry. And when I arrived on Saturday morning there was a Mysterious Amazon Parcel waiting for me. "Strange," I mused, "I don't remember ordering anything. Am I maybe ordering things in my sleep now? That is not good." But it wasn't that - it was in fact a present from
sparra and Mr.
sparra (squee, thank you!)! So that was a v. cheering way to start the day. And then I checked my email and found my invitation to the Archive of Our Own had arrived! (I was 18th in the queue, hence the speediness.) I haven't done much with it yet apart from upload my fics and look around a bit, but it is so pretty and user friendly and well organised! I LOVE IT.

And I was just so completely thrilled to finally encounter someone out there who felt the same that I simply had to thank you for articulating my feelings on the matter so succinctly.
Plus, you do *NOT* stalk Paul McGann, even though you live close enough to do so. The which I both envy your opportunity and admire your inner strength for resisting it.
