Monday, 24 September 2007 19:53Zoomed home from work today to see The Sarah Jane Adventures, so I avoided getting soaked in the downpour that started just after I got in. Thus we see the power of Sarah Jane's awesomeness in action. Was muchly tempted to watch the second episode but didn't, on the grounds that I don't know off hand what channel number CBBC is.
I loved it muchly! Great fun. I continue to be impressed by the girl who plays Maria, she's very good. Particularly in the scenes with her dad - they really sold the affectionate relationship that they had. Very sweet! Clyde was good too; he amused me! All the Slitheen were fun, my favourite line was probably "Goodbye, repellent pubescents!" I liked the lunchtime science club: "Gold star! (...no star.)" Am a little ashamed that I didn't work out that the other kid was a Slitheen, despite having seen the spoilery picture of the child slitheen earlier in the week. Oh well. Another good bit: Sarah casually drafting in Maria as her research assistant/apprentice. And Maria's mum was hilariously awful. The trailer for next week looked good too: "The four of us and a squeezy bottle of vinegar?" Heh.
velvetfascism tells me Spooks will be back on the 8th Oct. Hurray! Maybe I will even like Roz in this series. Nah, doesn't seem likely. And the News Quiz is back on Friday! No more Armando Iannucci, good. (I may have yelled "Why aren't you funny?" at the radio last week.) This truly is a time of joy!
