I went to see "At World's End" this weekend and I liked it muchly.

Elizabeth is totally a pirate now, yays. And there will be a Pirates 4 and she will save the day with her pirateness and it will be wonderful. Srsly, she was really good in this film. Her speech! And she is the Pirate King and everyone respects her.

Norrington? So not dead. This is TRUFAX and not mad denials because of Jack Davenport love. Because! Will is in charge of ferrying the souls of people wot died at sea about now, yes? So he will spot him and be all "hey! I like you! Well I maybe don't because of us being rivals for Elizabeth and how you tried to kill me that time and that other time and how you sort of nicked off with the heart and got us into this mess a bit. But! You're ok. And I need a crew because all of mine have Gone Off on account of I said they could. So! I rescue you." This could totally happen. Stop looking at me like that.

Barbossa was magnificent. And I am sure that he said "I now pronounce ye shipmateys!" when he married Will and Elizabeth. However everyone else I have said this to thinks I'm mad. But I know it's true! Erm, a theme appears to be developing.

I loved the beginning. Very stylish. And the sequence with Elizabeth giving up all her eleventybazillion weapons was great and the sort of thing I am very easy for. The feel of a world coming to an end, of everything falling apart, was very well done. (They killed the Small Child1 Hardcore! Though of course I do not advocate small child killage. At first I thought it was a flashback and the child was minijack and would therefore execute some kind of daring escape. But I was wrong.) And the sequence in Davy Jones's locker with all the Jacks and the whiteness was fantastic. From a visual standpoint, the whole film was amazing. There was so much detail in all the background stuff and the effects were pretty much seamless.

Nice sense of everything coming full circle, with the sword that Will made turning up again (though I was hoping that more would be made of it at the end - it was that sword that eventually killed Will, right?) and some other things that happened that I forgot.

Anyway yes, I have love for it. Hurray! Also it felt long without dragging which was cool.

(I had a very specific icon in my head what I wanted to use when I made this post, but sadly no-one has made it yet, so I will have to use my slightly similar Buffy one...)
