I watched Spoooooks last night. Just the BBC1 episode so please don't spoil me for the BBC3 one or I will be forced to... flail my arms about ineffectually. I need better threats.
First off: NOOOO ZAF DON'T DIE! I MEAN IT! My favourite characters over the last few years have been Harry, Ruth and Zaf and now I has the fear. Though I was thinking this lunchtime and I see a glimmer of hope in that between everything he's going through and the scene earlier where he blows his cover to warn the rest of the office about the bomb, maybe they are actually setting him up to leave the service like Tom did? No-one's done that for a while and if he has to go this would be a bit more bearable. Because then I can imagine that he'll go and find Ruth (I don't ship them, because Ruth/Harry is love and truth, but I do like their friendship) and they can hang out together and possibly live in a big house with Tom and Zoe, yes. This is a perfectly sane thing to think. But on the other hand Zaf is shot and infected and, oh yes, holding a grenade so it does not look good.
I really liked this episode, it was all tense and good and stuff. But then I think I am quite easy to please on the Spooks front, the only time I have really been annoyed at it was when they tried to pull the same trick at the end of season 2 as they had at the end of season 1, that made me cross. Oh and Ros, who last year I hated more immediately and unreservedly than I ever have any character before. Though she was actually not particularly irritating in this episode! Will wonders never cease? And even the Adam/Ros stuff wasn't too bad, I just fear that it will become overpowering later on.
Oh Miranda Raison, what hast thou wrought upon thine hair? It used to be so lovely and now you look like a teddy bear. :-(
