icons and a book (not in that order)

Just finished one of the new Doctor Who books, "The Glamour Chase". I read it on ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
neadods's recommendation and she was right, it is really great. I'm not entirely sure that the plot quite worked in the end, and there was one really weird page on masculine-looking women that made me go :/, but other than those two caveats I loved it tremendously (I started it at about 10.30 yesterday evening and finished it at lunchtime today). It had a very interesting and likeable race of aliens, and the characterisation was incredibly lovely: Amy doesn't get as much page time as the others, but is really good in the bits she does have, and I sat there grinning through all the scenes with the Doctor and Rory, not to mention the bits with Rory on his own. ♥

Martha! ♥ It is important that I have icons of her, and I love the look of wonder on her face in this one. The text is from Paradise Lost, but there is no deep meaning to my choosing it, I just liked it.

I have loved Bashir for many many years, and "Our Man Bashir" is one of my favourite DS9 episodes, not least because it takes not one but two Trek plot clichés (transporter malfunction and holodeck shenanigans) and turns them into a fantastic episode. Also this icon lets me pretend that Alexander Siddig got to be Bond, because that would be fantastic. (I would also like him to play the Doctor at some point, plzkthnx.)
DAYNA! She is from Blake's 7 and she is fantastic. She shoots people with arrows! SPACE ARROWS. My keywords for this icon read "dayna is more awesome than you" and although I think you are all great, I'm afraid this is probably true. Unless it is an episode where the writer has forgotten what Dayna is like, which sadly happens from time to time.

There is nothing about this icon that I do not love. Eight! Hugging a Dalek! (Because if any Doctor were to hug a Dalek, it would absolutely be Eight.) The happy expression on his face!
Worrals! I love her so. This isn't quite how I picture her in my head, but I quite like it anyway.
