catching up

HALLO. I went to Durham! And now I have come back. (Five hours on a train each way, more or less. But at least that gave me a chance to read The French Lieutenant's Woman and Bellwether and a bit of A Tale of Two Cities, and to listen to the second half of The Whispering Forest and the first half of Solitaire, and to knit some more of my sock, so it wasn't entirely wasted.) Anyway. The point of going was my college's five year reunion, which was great fun. We spent a lot of the weekend just wandering around old haunts in Durham, though sadly we couldn't go up Windy Gap* because it was closed. And there was a formal dinner on Saturday night, and there was supposed to be a bop but that didn't quite come off, oh well.
