assorted variousness
Friday, 22 July 2011 08:47- Approximate length of time between me installing my new wireless internet hub thing and it needing to be restarted for no readily apparent reason: twenty four hours. Approximate length of time between me installing my new wireless internet hub thing and me tripping over the cable, knocking it off the chest of drawers and breaking it, possibly irreparably: thirty six hours. In other words, there is an outside chance that I may not have any internets over the weekend, so if I am even rubbisher than usual about commenting/replying to comments... that is why.
- Caught up with Torchwood last night! Possibly it was because I was playing on the internet at the same time, but I wasn't entirely enthralled. It was fine for what it was, but I miss the silliness and the ramshackleness it used to have. Also, I haven't really warmed to any of the new characters: Esther and Vera are nice, but I can't be having with Rex and every time Oswald is on screen I wish he wasn't. Sigh. On the positive side, Gwen is in it! I still love her, though I do not love her hair. Also, Anwen is the cutest baby ever, aw. Oh, and I really liked the "how can we cure arsenic poisoning using only things found on planes?" sequence, that was exactly the blend of ridiculous and yet exciting that I like.
- In comics news: Wonder Woman is going to have retractable trousers. (Also heels, ugh.) Just when I thought the whole trousers/no trousers question couldn't get any sillier...
- Alastair Reynolds is writing a new Third Doctor book, with Jo and the Master! There are many things about this news that make me happy: new Classic Who books! Alastair Reynolds writing one! JOOOO!
- Here are two vids I have enjoyed recently: Starlight, by
calapine, a gorgeous Barbara vid, and I NEED A HERO, by
beccatoria, a Wonder Woman vid that makes my heart THRILL WITH JOY. ♥

Date: 22 Jul 2011 19:09 (UTC)I still haven't watched any of Torchwood. It's not because I don't want to, it's mostly because I was on vacation when the first episode aired and I haven't taken the time to watch any of it yet.
I want to read that Third Doctor book!

Date: 22 Jul 2011 21:27 (UTC)Retractable trousers! Because that makes so much more sense than having her sometimes wear trousers and sometimes not... *facepalm*
