- Two Christmas cards arrived for me on Saturday! (One of them was from [livejournal.com profile] cosmic_celery - thank you!)

- Also on Saturday, I went to see Richard II at the Tobacco Factory, which was excellent, as the Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory season always is.

- [personal profile] paranoidangel has already posted lots of excellent photos of the exhibition part of the Doctor Who Experience, so I will just post a few of the ones that I took:

This is what it would look like if I were a companion:

Getting up close and personal with a Dalek (a la Katy Manning, only clothed, due to not wanting to get thrown out):

A VERITABLE PANORAMA OF DALEKS:

This was my favourite bit, a mock up of a set/props designer's office, full of sketches, pictures, little models and bits and pieces from the set:

Fun with the night landscape setting on my camera:

- Book meme, from all over the place:

The book I am reading: I've just started reading Inkheart, though by "just started" I mean I have read one page. I'm also reading Managing Change for Library Support Staff, for an essay that I am absolutely going to start writing any day now. And I have nearly finished Birds of Prey: Of Like Minds, having decided recently to work my way through all the Birds of Prey books that my library has. So far this has proved to be an excellent decision.

The book I am writing: None at present.

The book I love most: YOU CANNOT MAKE ME CHOOSE JUST ONE. But if you did, it would probably be The Once and Future King, which is a slight cheat as it is sort of also four books.

The last book I received as a gift: The last two books I got for Christmas were Coronets and Steel by Sherwood Smith and Enchanted Glass by Diana Wynne Jones. Haven't read either of them yet, though, since they had to go to the bottom of the book pile. That is the rule.

The last book I gave as a gift: I bought The Sister The Rough Guide to Southeast Asia on a Budget for Christmas, don't think I've given anyone any books since then.

The nearest book on my desk table: There are piles of library books on my table; I think the closest is the Every Child Matters report, which is sticking out of the bottom of the "books for uni" pile.
