b7rewatch! Especially people who've never watched it; it is really good, you won't regret it.
Second, I have just read my BBC7 newsletter and this week they are broadcasting an adaptation of Biggles Flies North read by Michael Palin, which I shall be listening to when I get home. I think BBC radio stuff should be available outside the UK, but this may have changed since they switched from Real Player to iPlayer, and I have no way of checking.
Third, Whoishly, EEE THE COMPANY OF FRIENDS IS OUT NOW! Er, sorry about the capslock, I have been looking forward to this for quite a while. I've only had time to listen to Benny's story so far, which I really enjoyed (I posted about it, with spoilers, at
amongthedeadmen). Mostly what I want to say is "MORE LIKE THIS PLEASE!" - my one complaint with the main range is the lack of Eight, since he is my favourite, and I can't really afford to subscribe to the Eight and Lucie stuff too. Plus although I am fond of Lucie, C'Rizz and Charley, I don't love any of them nearly as much as I love Benny, Fitz (and Anji! Anji audios please!) and Izzy. And Fey! I would love to hear some Fey audios, since she has so little canon, really.
Speaking of Fey (does this count as fourthly? or third-b-ly?), I got Oblivion for my birthday, which I meant to review at the time but forgot. Anyway, I thought it was excellent, which is saying a lot given that I am generally not good at reading comics (I go straight for the words and forget to look at the pictures, oops). I particularly liked the fact that the stories work both as part of Izzy's character arc and as adventures in their own right. I was impressed by the way that the body swap played out - I was half expecting it to go the traditional route and have Izzy freak out, then discover that she can use her fish-powers to save the day and thus be completely ok with it from then on, so it was nice to see her go back and forth between angry, upset and resigned, as well as embracing her new abilities. The Doctor's concern for her and anger at losing her was also really well done, especially when it was communicated through the means of taking clothes off. And the Fey/Izzy kiss was lovely - I knew about it, but it was great to see it in context, having seen Izzy's journey to get to that point.

Date: 29 Jul 2009 16:57 (UTC)Oblivion!!! I love this one best of the Eighth Doctor comics I think (why oh why is there no Frida Kahlo/Fey having daring adventures in 1939 Paris fic? *is sad*) being in colour and Izzy getting a big arc, plus rebel Daleks from Evil of the Daleks and giant squid creature! My love of Fey/Izzy is unshakeable but I did especially love the way they handled that.
Edited to add: I'm going to keep Biggles open in a window, for when I have time to enjoy it with some knitting. *schedules desperately* Why have I no time to knit anymore why?

Slightly shamefully everything I know about Frida Kahlo I learnt from Oblivion, but I have to agree that that would be awesome.
Lack of time for knitting is so frustrating :(
