some more Torchwood
Wednesday, 8 July 2009 10:48I only have two Torchwood icons. Hopefully I will not have anything to say about tomorrow's episode or I might need a third. Anyway, as with yesterday's episode I enjoyed Day Two but with a few reservations.
- Good triumphs because Evil is stupid. Frobisher and Spears know that Lois knows more than she should, and yet they still wander round having Top Secret conversations within earshot of her and take her to see their Very Secret Alien Building Project? And Spears doesn't even bother to change her password? Seriously?
- The whole "let's see how many ways we can kill Jack!" thing is beginning to squick me a little, to be honest. Also, why are his lungs not full of concrete?
- OH IANTO. He may have nicked that forklift truck, but he's still going to make sure he wears his hard hat and hi-vis vest. Safety first!
- I loved the fact that all the time Gwen was threatening the ambulance guy, you could see the poster about assaults on ambulance crew just behind his head. Nice.
- Penguin count: still zero. Though possibly I am beginning to lose my mind as I am starting to think that Peter Capaldi really looks quite a bit like a penguin anyway.
- "WE WANT A PONY! WE WANT A PONY!" ♥
- All the bits with Gwen and/or Rhys were WIN. I love how normal Rhys is, that he has a bit of a panic when Gwen tells him that people are trying to kill them and ends up running around with his trousers half on. And that when escaping from assassins, the two things he thinks he'll need are a phone and a book, there's a man after my own heart, though I would probably have tried to take my knitting too. And then he gets to use his lorry knowledge! Yay.
- I am glad to see that Gwen knows that all you need to sneak into somewhere is an official looking clipboard.

Date: 8 Jul 2009 18:40 (UTC)When I watched that, I caught myself letting my work get way too far into my private life. After months of doing internal audit in (local, I admit) government, I keep heckling at TV and radio about how their systems are crap (probably much to the annoyance of long-suffering flatmate). As if my "3 reasons why the whole MPs' expenses business really happened" rant wasn't enough, it is now spreading to fiction.
Spears' password hasn't even got a number in it! The computer's meant to be set up not to even let her set a password like that! And then she lets someone know what it is! Someone she's barely met! And did the computer let Lois log in as Spears when Spears was still using the other one? In a place that's supposed to have a that sort of security level? Faaaail! *brain curdles*. Sorry.
Also, Ianto wearing something isn't impeccable tailoring? Really must be the apocalypse.
