Short Trips are an excellent read, though you could start with the first 3 collections which were published by the BBC - Short Trips, More Short Trips, and Short Trips And Side Steps. The latter contains a story with Peter Cushing's 'Dr Who' from the 1960s film, a sequal to 'K9 And Company', and a story involving the scientist 'Dr Who', his grandkids 'John' and 'Gillian', and his faithful car 'Betsy', all from the 1960s sci-fi comic.
