DW: The Hungry Earth
Saturday, 22 May 2010 20:42It's always hard to judge part ones because the set up is the fun bit and it could easily go horribly wrong in the resolution, but I enjoyed that a fair bit.
- "Ground feels strange. ...just me." I love Eleven more every week! Something just clicked in "Vampires in Venice" and now I adore him.
- I sort of want the bit where future Amy and Rory are waving at themselves to be just exactly that, because it's a bit Obviously Significant, and I would find it hilarious if we all spend the next ever frantically speculating only for it to turn out to be just a throwaway moment after all.
- Of course the TARDIS console has an engagement ring stand, why wouldn't it?
- *adds 'catapult' to list of things the Doctor has in his pockets*
- Eleven's blank, shocked expression at losing Amy reminds me of Amy's reaction to losing Rory last week.
- The Doctor needs Rory! I love this bit and am shipping Eleven/Amy/Rory a great deal.
- "Me!" Oh Matt Smith, you are brilliant at popping up from behind things and jumping out of cakes and so on. That is a very specific talent, but, apparently, useful.
- Eleven's scenes with Tiny Welsh Sherlock Holmes are lovely. "That's alright, I can't make a decent meringue." I also really like the fact that Elliot loves books despite not being able to read them that well, that's a great detail.
- Base Under Siege! Funtimes.
- Aw, Rory making sure everyone's ok! I heart him.
- Heat vision sunglasses! Heeee. I also laughed quite a lot at Rory jumping out of the van and going "AAAHHH".
- And the Doctor is trying to make peace, telling the humans to be the best that they can be, trying to make them into ambassadors. YES. (Also I am wondering if it'll be possible to make this tie up with the UNIT audios. *crosses fingers*)

Also, I just want to draw hearts around Rory, bless him <3

Definitely not! And it could work, probably, depending what happens in part two...

Date: 23 May 2010 09:16 (UTC)Now is the engagement ring stand important? Or, just because, you know, every TARDIS should have one.

Date: 23 May 2010 20:16 (UTC)I love the fact that both options are equally plausible! An engagement ring stand could well be standard issue for TARDISes...

*nods* Though I suppose it does make more sense from a Silurian than anyone else!
