1.) Happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] munditia for yesterday! Hope you had a lovely day.

2.) I am back from Brussels! There are over a thousand unread items in my Google Reader and I have missed EVERYTHING so please link me to things. Brussels was lovely, I took some rather haphazard photos (it is a feature of my camera that in the daylight it is nigh on impossible to see the screen so one cannot tell what one is taking pictures of), they are all on Facebook here and some are below. The weather was pretty good, except on Monday morning when it was freezing, and the Mother and I looked at many things. Sadly we failed to look at the Atomium, we got halfway there and then the metro was unexpectedly suspended, so we had to come back, which was a bit of a pain. Anyway, pictures:

3.) Oh, I started reading Victory of Eagles just now thinking it would be full of JOY but then I remembered what happened at the end of Empire of Ivory. NO JOY TODAY.

Hee, Tintin mural! Lovely pictures, and glad it was a good trip!

If I remember rightly, Victory of Eagles has more joy than one might expect? But I'm not sure I am remembering rightly, except that it was very good! :D

Oh, good Tintin mural!

I've still only read the first three of Novik's series; no Victory of Eagles yet, although I have both it and Empire of Ivory. Tongues of Serpents comes out in July -- I can easily keep putting this off until that sixth one comes out. And if that's not last in series, I can easily put off reading them until even later. Oh, the procrastinator that I am...

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I did indeed have a very lovely day (I even got a Doctor Who book and a paper cut-out TARDIS - heh.)

Love the Tintin mural and the rocket, by the way! Was the last picture taken at the Comic Book Museum?

Also, you win 'cos capt. Jack Sparrow has never been to Brussels.
