"I dabble."

1) Happy birthday to
bubbles83 for tomorrow!
2.) Between the library move and being at my parents' for Easter, have not been around much recently, and since I am away again next weekend this is not likely to change; if there's anything from the last week or so or in the next week or so that you think I should/would like to see, leave me a link! ♥
3.) I think Dreamwidth may have been looking through my brain for ideas for their new features; now if you click on someone's icon it takes you straight to their userpics page, and the drafts saving feature now saves subject lines etc too. I like!
4.) Sign I have possibly been watching too much Leverage: I found myself in the hat department at TK Maxx and the first thought I had went: "ooo, that looks like a hat that Nate would wear. I should TOTALLY buy it." I did not in fact buy it, so there may be hope for me yet.
5.) Also in the watching things department, "The Eleventh Hour"! I liked it a lot, though there was one thing I didn't like.
5b.) My sister, this weekend, on New Who as a whole: "They have spent too much money on effects and not enough money on QUARRIES." ...I cannot fault her logic.

- That being: "So basically... run." ...yeah. I really don't like the Doctor as Epic Defender Of Earth, style of thing. I much prefer him to be a more than usually resourceful type with a habit of turning up in the right place at the right time and a desire to leave things better than he found them. Other people recognising him is fair enough - save that many planets and people start to pay attention - but the grandstanding was a bit "don't you know who I am?" for my taste.
- But other than that, I really liked it! The plot was paper thin, but it didn't really need to be anything more than a peg to hang New Doctor and New Companion and Associates of New Companion off, and as such it worked fine.
- I love Amy! She is weird and self possessed and awesome. She BIT her therapists! Everyone knows about her raggedy Doctor! She made Rory pretend to be the Doctor! She watched the Doctor get changed, heeeee.
- Eleven is fun, pretty Doctorish so far, yay! Fish custard, indeed. I loved how seriously he took tinyAmy, who, while I'm on the subject, was just ADORABLE. I was so sad when the Doctor didn't come back for her, even though I knew he wasn't going to. Poor little thing, sitting on her suitcase all by herself.
- New TARDIS interior! I think I love it a lot, apart from the orange, and that is just my irrational dislike of orange. It is full of STUFF and it has LEVELS.
- Oh DOCTOR why must you keep telling people you will be back in five minutes? As soon as you say it you GUARANTEE it will not be true. *shakes head*
