"This is not gone! This is more!"
1.) Happy International Women's Day, everyone! Was quite nice to wake up to the news that Kathryn Bigelow has won an Oscar, I have not seen her film but then I have not seen any of the others either and it is about time a woman won Best Director. Also there is a program about feminism on BBC4 tonight that I shall definitely be watching (first in a series, I think). OK, I am going to a pub quiz tonight (hurray!) and can't get BBC4 anyway (when is the digital switchover happening? I know it is ANY DAY NOW but can't remember exactly when. *googles* Aha, 24th March) so I shall be iplayering it at a later date, but the principle is the same.
2.) OH LIVEJOURNAL NO. Why do they keep doing these things? Even without the bit where the code accidentally stripped other people's affiliate IDs and replaced them with the LJ one, this was never going to end well. In related news, I have three Dreamwidth invite codes if anyone wants one.
3.) This is the part where I talk about Leverage some more! (Up to 2x09 now, please don't spoil me!) Sorry to everyone who is not watching it (though you SHOULD be because it is LOVELIER THAN KITTENS). I took notes for the first half of 2x01 but not any of the others, so if I seem to say more about that one that is why.

- Lol, Nate trying to get a real job and RUNNING AWAY when he remembered how TERRIBLE it would be.
- Parker telling Sophie that they should steal something together because that would make Sophie feel better!
- "You need to get back on the bike. THE BIKE OF CRIME."
- SOPHIE HEADBUTTED A MAN.
- ELIOT APPLAUDING NATE RESCUING PEOPLE.
- NATE RUINED THEM FOR OTHER CRIME.
- "This is not gone! This is more!"
- "...oh, THAT mob."
- "You know, when you're sober your metaphors get creepier."
- OH THEY ARE ALL SMILING SO MUCH BECAUSE NATE AGREED TO PLAY WITH THEM. Also Sophie gleefully snuggling Eliot was LOVE.
- "What are the odds that Eliot's crotch will actually explode?"
- HARDISON BOUGHT NATE'S BUILDING! And MOVED IN! Hee. I love the thinking behind that: "Nate won't let us stay at his place. I SHALL BUY HIS PLACE, THEN IT SHALL BE MY PLACE."
- Aw, Eliot's happyface at the end of 2x01: "my lovely team is back together again! Also I have a chainsaw. TODAY IS THE BEST DAY EVER."
- OK, in retrospect the first few episodes of this season were not entirely great, but they still had many lovely elements to them, and I didn't really notice the dip in quality until I got to "The Top Hat Job" and suddenly it was all wonderfulness again. (Poor Eliot, stuffed into that cupboard with the rabbit!)
- Hardison can hack golf balls. GOLF BALLS. He is amazing. (He cannot hack a hick though.)
- "Eliot's found his niche." *cut to Eliot teaching a room full of eleven year old girls how to fight* Just thinking about that bit makes me VERY HAPPY.
- "I like it when we do each other's jobs. It's exciting." I like it too, Parker! (I also like your gas mask.) That's one of the things I've been really enjoying about this season, the way the jobs aren't necessarily going exactly to plan, making the team look both more fallible and more competent, because they can do each other's jobs (more or less) and they can improvise on the fly and still make it work. I also love that Eliot has been teaching Hardison and Parker to fight (OT3!) and that Hardison has been teaching Eliot to hack ("the http goes before the www, right? Which one's the forward slash?"). I love the fact that they all actually like each other and spend time together and teach each other things and stuff.
- "The Two Live Crew Job" was so much fun. Wil Wheaton! The laptop-off! Eliot and girl!Eliot facing off entirely in their minds, and later comparing scars! (That gash on Christian Kane's face looked nasty. Seventeen stitches, I understand?) Parker and boy!Parker having a lock picking competition!
- You know, I really like Nate when he adopts a ridiculous disguise of some sort. He is so obviously enjoying himself, it is v. endearing.
- "No-one respects the van." Poor Hardison. I respect the van!
- Parker getting Hardison's Star Trek reference! And her reluctant fist bump. Aw.
- I loved Nate trying to get Eliot to sit next to Parker on the sofa. Also Parker poking Eliot's sore arm, and then Nate poking it too when he protested. They are like kids, I love that.
- ELIOT COOKING FOR THE TEAM. It's like they knew what my fanon was going to be and pre-emptively made it canon. ♥
- Everyone misleading Parker about conspiracy theories was brilliant. Eliot was so sincere!
- I like Tara, she is fun. Also she is SEVEN OF NINE and however I felt about Voyager I always loved Seven.
- Oh, the whole "Where's Waldo" bit when they busted Nate for going to London to see Sophie was brilliant.
- Sophie's arc I found not entirely convincing, but since they had to write her out for a bit anyway, I am quite willing to be Doylist about it and accept it.
- "Oh, you'd be surprised what I can do." Thank you for enabling my Hardison/Eliot shipping, show! Also on shipping, I am really enjoying all the Hardison/Parker stuff, because it is lovely, but I do have a bit of fear that they may be setting up a terrible love triangle, which would make me sad because a) I hate love triangles and b) DNW inter-team drama! Can't we just have lovely OT3 goodness instead, show?
- "White people doing other white people stuff." ILU HARDISON.
- Hardison just accepting that Parker was wandering around in a nun's habit because that's how she rolls!
- There were MANY OTHER THINGS I loved but I have temporarily forgotten them, and, also, this post is getting ridiculously long anyway, so. Time to stop!
