Here is a year in review post, sort of thing. I have probably forgotten most of the things that should have gone into it.
Things I liked in 2012
Films: hmmm. I don't watch a lot of films, which you would think would make this easier, but generally if I see a film it's because I REALLY want to see it. So a smaller pool, but it's made up of stronger contenders. My picks, on the basis that they made me happy: The Avengers, Chak De! India, and Brave.
Comics: I have read a lot of comics this year and Saga was easily the best. Honourable mentions go to Wonder Woman: Down to Earth and Blue Beetle: Shellshocked.
Books: Lois McMaster Bujold's A Civil Campaign jumps out at me as my favourite of the year. Code Name Verity was... well, it was harrowing, but in a good way. Unspoken caused gleeful flailing.
TV: Mostly stuff I already loved! Community, Warehouse 13, Classic Who. Bits of Korra and current Who (THE POWER OF THREE!).
Things I am excited about in 2013
TV: More Community, more Warehouse 13, more Korra, more Young Justice. The latter is a bit of a mess but is occasionally awesome, and though it's not looking likely I really hope it gets a third season, if only to follow up on Steph's cameo appearance in "Depths". I JUST WANT MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER TO EXIST AGAIN, IS THAT SO WRONG. All the Doctor Who fiftieth anniversary shenanigans! Mofftime is pretty unpredictable for me as to whether I will be delighted or annoyed by any given episode, but I can't not be excited about the anniversary year. ♥
Films: ... eh. I'll probably go and see the new Star Trek (despite the ridiculous title), Thor and Iron Man films, but I'm not overwhelmed with excitement about any of them.
Comics: MORE SAGA. And the trades of Hawkeye and Captain America; they both look aces. Hopefully finally actually reading Demon Knights, if DC can hold off on doing anything terrible for long enough for me to a) decide to buy it and then b) buy it. (Sadly, today is not that day.)
Books: A new Sarah Rees Brennan book (Untold)! New books by Ben Aaronovitch and Kate Elliott! Captain Vorpatril's Alliance, which I have on reservation at the library! YESSSSS.
ETA OH NO I FORGOT ABOUT VIDUKON! That is definitely one of the things I am excited about for 2013. :D
2012 In Fanworks
...moving swiftly on. Um, I made almost nothing last year, due to lacking both time and inspiration. I hope that this will change this year! I'd definitely like to make some more vids - I have two or three ideas of specific ones I want to make, one of which I've actually made a start on - but that will most likely have to wait until I get a new laptop, as my current one is not entirely happy about playing videos, let alone editing them. I also want to try and leave more comments on other people's fanworks this year, but I say that every year.
2012 In General Life Stuff
It was pretty good! I got published! And got as far along with my dissertation as I was planning to! (...I should probably get back to that.) I hung out with a lot of excellent people, and I went to the Edinburgh Festival for the first time, which is something I'm thinking about doing again this year.
I went through some of the stuff under my bed in my parents' house at the end of 2012, which has made me all fired up for Operation Make My Life Somewhat Less Shambolic And Disorganised (snappier title forthcoming). I am going to have clearouts! And clean all the bits of my flat I don't usually bother with! I am going to spend less time aimlessly noodling about on Tumblr, and more time going to Improving Lectures! I will finish all my current knitting projects and take beautiful pictures of them to put on Ravelry! I shall be organised, and make lists, and soup! (Spoiler: I am probably not going to do any of those things. Well, maybe the soup. Mmmm, soup.)
Happy New Year!

DC recolored Steph's hair to look like Babs'? Again? WHEN BABS WAS CLEARLY IN THE SAME SHOT? *headdesk* And just when I was all excited about how squeeful the Christmas Li'l Gotham was. *sigh*

Afraid so, I checked yesterday lunchtime in Forbidden Planet, and Steph's hair is now noticeably redder. :( I am trying not to let it interfere with my Li'l Gotham related joy (your icon is so adorable! ♥), but I just don't understand why they keep doing it. I mean, I get the reasoning behind there only having been one Batgirl in the DCnU - I don't like it, but I understand it - but I can't get my head round DC apparently thinking that this means they have to expunge Cass and Steph from every universe. D:

That is sad. :( And thank you! I made it with my very limited Photoshop skills and a screenshot I took of the most recent Li'l Gotham digital issue. You can borrow it if you like. :)
